2010 Inspiration

I am going to deviate from raw food today to share with you some thoughts for the new year.

We are approaching the end of the year, and the end of a decade. I know for many, myself included, 2009 was one of the most challenging years I have ever faced. I found myself living in a state of survival and fear. So many things changed, so many of those felt out of my control. I hunkered down and rode out the storm.

The day after Christmas, I woke up and realized that I no longer was willing to live in the survival mode. My dear friend, Amy Oscar and I were having a brief conversation about this and it came to me, my new motto and intention for 2010.  Thrive, don’t merely survive in 2010.

We have a little time left before 2010 is here. I am going to that time to examine my life, decide what I want it to be and set my intentions to make it so. I no longer wish to be at the whim of the universe, I intent to co-create with it. It is the start of a new decade, a perfect time to do the work.

This will require some self-evaluation and vision work. I welcome the challenge and invite you to join me! Take out a big piece of paper and write “my life” in the center. Then, start adding things as they come to you around the center. See how the thoughts connect up and what bridges together. Just let it flow, don’t over think it. You will be surprised at how easily things start to come to you. This is called a mind map.

You can make a mind map for your life. Start broad and then if you like, take the different categories that you come up with and turn each of those into it’s own map. Once you see your direction, you can figure out your intentions. I would love to hear what you come up with!

I’ve just come across your website and really like it. I have yet to try the recipes but they look delicious and I can’t wait to try them. I’ve been doing a sort of mind mapping – through journaling the last year and a half and it’s amazing how much it has helped me. It began with a creativity workshop that talked about free writing every day. It turned in to so much more. It’s so interesting to see how things come together. I have learned though that the saying “Be careful what you wish for” is so true. Many times things have happened and I thought “that isn’t what I wanted” but it was actually what I asked for. It’s also hard to plan for others actions. Definitely keeps life interesting! 2009 was a trying year for many and may we all enjoy a much more happy and prosperous 2010. Happy thoughts to everyone!

What a wonderful idea. Mind mapping is great fun. I am so sorry to hear about your difficult year. But it’s clear you’re going to take the bull by the horns and make some changes. I hope and wish that you create a world that inspires you and brings you joy. You deserve it! Have a wonderful, wonderful 2010!

I’ve been doing mind-mapping unconsciously for a few years now, and by gosh, it works! And I do want to say that the Universe co-creates with all of us, all the time, so no problem there! And by the looks of things, at least online, you’re doing pretty good for yourself, ma’am! Love your beautiful pictures and recipes! Keep ’em comin’ in 2010. May you have everything you wish for and then some in 2010.

Wow, that sounds like something I could have wrote. Only people close to me know what I’ve gone through these past few years, it’s strange seeing someone else put the words out there. I think it comes down to inner strength, may we all find a boat load of it in 2010!

I know exactly what you mean. Honestly, it isn’t easy to actually write it but it needs to be aired out and dismissed!!! The best to you, also!
