Monday Give Away: UrthBag!

Monica Ralli, founder of UrthBags, has sent us this beautiful “Angelina” recycled magazine handbag for our Monday give away! UrthBags are the Eco-Chic handbags made with the health of the planet in mind. I have one of these little beauties sitting on the kitchen table, and believe me, it is fantastic.

Monica has always tried to live a sustainable life by recycling everything possible, shopping locally at farmers markets, avoiding toxic chemicals by choosing organic, etc.  Looking in her closet one evening filled with handbags, purses, totes, gym bags, etc., She thought to herself, why couldn’t these same, stylish designs be made from salvaged, recycled & discarded materials?   After much researching, sourcing materials, locating and organizing women’s groups, she created UrthBags Eco-Chic Handbags.

Monica also follows a predominantly raw diet and has for over 20 years. She strongly advocate consuming sustainable, fresh food diet that is as close to its natural state as possible. Sisterhood!

This beautiful bag’s retail value is 72.00. Thank you Monica!

I keep a chico bag in my purse – never need a plastic or paper bag when I go to the grocery store http://www.chicobag.com

I reuse the large glass jugs that once held organic apple juice, from my local coop, and keep them filled with pure drinking water from a local spring.

I use green products to care for my home. So many people I know have MCS, Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. I care deeply for the earth, our precious organic food, and I do my part for the environment and my home.

I like to do a bit of everything, but I don’t seem to be 100% of all that I do. I compost, recycle, walk, transit, grow some veggies and herbs. Shop at the Farmers market, buy organic and make consious choices. I do wish I was better…I keep working at it one step at a time.

I love trying to come up with ways for my husband and I to become more green. This year we had a garden with fresh veggies that we love and we purchased a composting bin also that is working great!

To be more green, I take home the mistake printed pages from work and use the backs for my printing, I ONLY use reusable grocery bags, I live 5 minutes from my work, AND I limit the amount of processed or packaged food that I buy.

To be more green, I am coloring my hair naturally with an eco friendly rinse vs using a peroxide chemical laden box of color !!
