KitchenAid 5-Speed Blender Give Away!

This contest has ended.

I couldn’t help myself. I saw a video on how the KitchenAid blender beat both the Vitamix and the Blendtec blenders in a test. Considering it is about 1/4 to 1/3rd the price, I just had to get one and put it through it’s paces. So for the next few days, I will be blending and reporting. And on Friday…because I want you all to know how much I appreciate you, I will be giving it away! (Make sure you read the rules below or your entry won’t count.)

To enter, simply leave a comment in the comment section telling me why you are interested in raw food. It can be as simple as one word, or as long as you like. I will pick a winner on Friday with a random number generator and announce who won on Friday. Entries will close at noon on Friday.

So far, I am pretty darn impressed. This is what I am eating for lunch. Right this minute. Slurp!

No fancy food photography today. I was hungry. And too excited to get this posted.  Hurry up and enter before I decide to keep this little beauty! If you can’t wait until Friday, you can find one here: KitchenAid 5-Speed Blender

Why I am interested in raw food? It comes down to RAW FOOD IS REAL FOOD.

It took me a full year to learn that. Never mind my Ph.D. The environment, the culture, we live in is polluted with “information” as much as it is with toxic chemicals.

I got the picture after I was diagnosed with Type II diabetes, 17 months ago. I was not going to take insulin (the side effects of which my non-obese mother died from). I learned by testing my blood sugar, before and after meals (plus much reading) what specific foods do, sugar wise, in my body. My goals included BS levels below 100 fasting, below 140 at one-hour and 120 at two-hours after food.

Within two weeks my medications were cut in half, then again and again until I was off all meds. My A1C went from 11.8 to 5.9 in three months and MultiCare asked me to teach meal plans to their diabetics. I even found a great meal that actually, repeatedly, lowered my one-hour blood sugar. They changed their mind on the teaching when they learned all that I might say. I stuck it out with my doc to teach her what I was learning (medications are NOT the way plus their side-effects suck). I just kinda backed into eating more and more raw foods. A few of the “side-effects” I experience from eating RAW to lower blood sugar include (CT showing no longer fatty liver, dissolved kidney stones, excellent Triglyceride/cholesterols, weight loss of 1 to 2 lbs./week until it just stopped, tons of energy, etc.) I knew my high cholesterol was related “somehow” to eating processed sugar. Still don’t have the science down on that.

Anyway, I am so glad to have found you. As an old lady I am not good with computers, but I was looking for what temperature to dehydrate peaches/strawberries to keep all the raw goodies as possible. And there you were! I still have my stainless steel Vita-mix from 1986 (only pulse works now), so I care what your verdict is on this less expensive machine. I am making my own organic coconut milk and oil which I still consider raw although I process it (so I know it contains no Carrageenan and just what my body needs to make essential fatty acids). Could you check out your machine on that? Use non-dried meat to make milk. Eat raw, learn lots: that’s what I say now.

    Love
    Joan

I like raw foods because they are so flavorful. Can’t wait to see how this blender compares to the vitamix. 🙂

The reason I love raw is that last year I had a kidney transplant and am taking drugs for it which I dont like and I know how good eating raw food is so my goal is to somehow eat health raw food so maybe one day I wont need to take the drugs. I also have lots of energy eating raw.
