I have never owned a dehydrator and would love to make the raw pancakes from this website. I’d also like to dry my own fruits.

I have been dreaming about owning a dehydrator for about two years now. It would be amazing to be able to finally kick my raw food repertoire up a notch and make amazing desserts and kale chips! (I love nutritional yeast!) Exciting!

After seeing Food Inc. and other documentaries I realized that Raw is the way to go – winning this dehydrator would be such a wonderful way of assisting my family in myself in our raw way of life. 🙂

I’ve always been thin and somewhat underweight. Yet I’ve been fairly healthy. I’m 21 and decided to move out. So just before Halloween I went to the doctor for a check up. I went to signify my readiness to start life on my own. So I could leave the nest with no fears for my health. All my tests came out fine, the doctor said I was normal and healthy. (That normal part should have tipped me off.=D) Later that day the doctor called and told me to come back in ASAP. He said, “Something is strange with you’re urine sample.” I had no clue what that could mean. Unfortunately my only ride had just left, minutes before, so I had no way to get back before he would be leaving. So we set an emergency appointment for the next morning. I had some more vampiric tests done. We waited while those new tests were processed. Then when the doctor came in he said that he was sure that this news was something we didn’t want to hear. He said that I was in the honeymoon faze of diabetes. He said that I had been in this faze anywhere from three weeks to three months because I had no symptoms. I was told that I should stay with my parents until I’m stable, which could take six months to a year. I looked up how to keep my blood in a normal range so I won’t have to give a lot of shots (They give me bruises.) and found that a diet of all raw food is the best way to do that. The only problem is I can’t make enough to keep me good all the time or make things that will keep very long for when I need to grab something and go.
A dehydrator would make it so I could make enough for me and my mom who out of sympathy is on the raw diet with me.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh me oh my. Would love to win a dehydrator. It’s a pricey bit that I haven’t yet been able to afford. What would I make? Ah geez, what wouldn’t I make? Surely, raw crackers and kale chips . . . to start. Thanks ever so much.

My 9 year old neice just recently became a vegetarian. She loves animals and even gave up her favorite food (bacon!) because she can’t stand to see animals of any kind suffer. She and I talk all the time about how to make sure she gets enough nutrients in her diet, and I was encouraging her to try to eat raw food as much as possible. This food dehydrator would help us both to practice preparing raw foods and promote good health!

Having this would allow me to expand my diet and allow my daughter and I to try new recipes that we don’t have an option for right now!
