Traveling in Colorado

I haven’t gotten back in the kitchen this week quite yet as I am still basking in the afterglow of spending the weekend with my daughters in Colorado. So instead of a recipe today, I thought I would instead share some pictures. This is from Summit County.

My eldest daughter is working as a guide at a horse ranch this summer. I haven’t been on horseback since I sold my last horse about 4 years ago. A ride was a must!

Not a bad view for horses or us!

This shot was just too pretty to pass up.

The wildflowers were in full bloom.

We still haven’t identified this one…

The Dillion reservoir sits at over 9,000 ft. It is the main source for Denver’s water. It covers over 3,000 acres.

As beautiful as this picture is, if you look closely, You can see all the dead pines from the pine beetle. It is decimating the pine forests up there.

And I couldn’t resist. This is Cargo. The newest member of my youngest daughter’s household. He was just adopted from the Humane Society. He is 8 weeks old and a tiny little boy!

Anne, I don’t think so. They grew alone (one stem here and there) and the leaves look different.

Great pics! Cargo is such a handsome little guy. I have never had an extensive list of places I wanted to see, but thanks to your pictures, both CO and MN are now on the list.
