Your whole food, plant-based life.

Week One Give-a-Way!

Last week I announced that we are going to be giving away a gift every week from now until the end of the year! I am so excited! You will have to check in each Monday to see what we will be giving away for that week. Some products will be directly associated with raw food, some associated with a green, healthy life style!

This week we are kicking off the contest with two copies of the raw food Rawmazing Dessert Book! (what did you expect?) One will be the PDF form, and the other will be the print copy. To enter, just put a comment in the comment section, one simple sentence stating why you are interested in raw food. Entries will be taken Monday and Tuesday, with the winner announced Wednesday of each week.

So, put in your comment today or tomorrow and Wednesday we will announce the winner!

You can also purchase the book here: Rawmazing Desserts

Raw food is real food; all you need to do is take a look at the “ingredients” and you’ll know this is true: (example) raspberry, cashew, avocado, sesame seeds… yum!

I vaguely knew of raw foods 6 years ago and forgot it. Then this summer I was visiting my sister in Bellingham, WA and we ate at raw food restaurants. I’d been GFF for a year and I LOVED it. Then I researched raw foods on the web and found rawmazing. I am a HUGE fan!!!! I love the recipes and the fact that I’m your neighbor in Iowa! Yea Midwest!

I’m gfcf and I discovered most raw cookbooks are gluten free and casein free.

Raw food caught my eye years ago when I first saw Julianos book, “Raw.” I love veggie food and raw is a fun, creative outlet. Lots of new options out there… would I have come across zucchini pasta and cashew ice cream and freezer fudge if I wasn’t browsing raw blogs?

With the onset of colder weather, it’s a natural impulse to want warmer, cozier foods–stews, casseroles, etc–but I’ve actually never been healthier during winter months than when I’ve been on a raw food diet. So here’s to staying healthy and avoiding the flu!

After throwing out the processed foods and carbonation I discovered what years of medical treatments could not, my body was fighting my food and I was losing. On my own and through the help of some wonderful websites, the systemic edema is gone, I am energetic and the depression is gone!!.

i know what cooked foods taste like together and cooking had lost its zest. raw foods are completely different flavors and i am once again excited to make new foods and see how things will go together. also raw food just makes me feel better.

I love cooking raw food. That is completely opposite of what I do now, cooking I mean. Well I like to use the dehydrator! I have been a nutritionalist, herbalist, and all around eating well, kind of person. I use to love to cook. But I can get bored easy. After a few years I grew bored with cooking, as I believe I was at an intermediate level at least. Then starting to hear about raw, I started in on the stuff most people start out on with a raw food life style, salads and fruits, with lots of juicing. But now preparing raw food on a gourmet level is so different then anything I was used to making. The seasoning is the same, but just about everything else is different and I love that. I get to use my noggin for exceptionally healthy food creations, but to have them be raw and no body either knows or cares (even if they are not into health food) is complete satisfaction!! And a huge bonus…I get to eat what I make and share, and oh baby is it good!!
