Dehydrator Giveaway!

The time has come to do our first giveaway and is it ever a good one! Many raw food recipes require a dehydrator and if you don’t have one, it can be challenging. One of the most common questions I get is how to prepare the raw food recipes without a dehydrator.
I hope to fix that problem for one of you!
The great folks over at TSM Dehydrators have donated a 300.00, 5 shelf, stainless Dehydrator, the D5! I couldn’t be happier to be able to offer this! I have one of these dehydrators. It is my favorite. It is quiet, sturdy, very easy to pull apart and clean and does a great job at temperature control. I have checked. Continue for the rules!
Here are the rules:
Enter by simply asking a question you have about raw food in the comment area.
Only one entry allowed per person.
Entries will close at 6pm on Thursday, March 18th, 2010.
Winner will be randomly selected and announced following the contest.
I will be answering your questions in upcoming blog posts!

What tips do you have to help make eating raw less time consuming?

Okay one of the biggest things that has been irking me about raw foodism, is the juicing and processing to make some foods. How much of the nutritional value is destroyed due to oxidation of anti-oxidants and also lipids in the process of chopping everything up, exposing more surface area and thus more lipids and antioxidants to air and light? Because that exposure is fast and furious, I always feel like every second its out and exposed to air that it has already become empty calories from the oxidation..
thanks!

I was wondering. In regards to using soaked flax seeds to make crackers and the like…
Do they need to be whole in order to get the same jelly-like effect?
I read that whole flax seeds are not very digestable and actually need to be turned into the “flour” in order to provide the nutrients you need from them.
Thanks! Fingers crossed for this dehydrator!

Wow, awesome giveaway!
I have a ronco dehydrator, so yeah, this would rock my world.
My question is food related. What is the yummiest raw vegan salad dressing you have had that contains no sugar or nama shoyu?
The one rough spot in my diet right now is lack of variety in salad dressings.
Love your blog! Can’t wait to see all the great posts that come out of this contest.

In raw cooking can you use dried seaweed? I love seaweed but i figured that because it was dried, and i am guessing, at a high temp than you cant use them. I hope i win.

Wow. This is the most amazing giveaway and couldn’t be better timing for me. I am so ready to go 100% raw and am in need of a dehydrator to help me & my family make that transition.
My question is…”What has been your most difficult challenge in staying 100% raw?” and and another is “what has been your most pleasant surprise in choosing a raw lifestyle?”
Crossing my fingers and manifesting this beautiful dehydrator 😉
XO

I have gone 100% raw (aprox 4 weeks ago), which is very difficult as I don’t have a support system, and this is my question:
What can I do to make being out of the home easier while maintaining my raw-ness?
Its hard enough sometimes to be 100% raw at home, but even harder when I’m out. Also, if you don’t mind answering an extra question, what do you do to fight cravings for bread?

How well does this dehydrator preserve Vitamin C? I ask because I am looking into making a 1 year food storage in my basement – hopefully we’ll never need it, but scurvy is a big concern.
Thanks for the great giveaway!
