Dehydrator Giveaway!

The time has come to do our first giveaway and is it ever a good one! Many raw food recipes require a dehydrator and if you don’t have one, it can be challenging. One of the most common questions I get is how to prepare the raw food recipes without a dehydrator. I hope to fix that problem for one of you!

The great folks over at TSM Dehydrators have donated a 300.00, 5 shelf, stainless Dehydrator, the D5! I couldn’t be happier to be able to offer this! I have one of these dehydrators. It is my favorite. It is quiet, sturdy, very easy to pull apart and clean and does a great job at temperature control. I have checked. Continue for the rules!

Here are the rules:

Enter by simply asking a question you have about raw food in the comment area.

Only one entry allowed per person.

Entries will close at 6pm on Thursday, March 18th, 2010.

Winner will be randomly selected and announced following the contest.

I will be answering your questions in upcoming blog posts!

Winning a dehydrator would definitely steer my eating habits in the right direction. Although I’d admit, it’s not the best reason to win one. I used to be a no vegetable no fruit person. The thought or sight of them used to make me heave. Infact anything healthy was a no no. In the past 10 years, im happy to say something finally changed. Unfortunately I still can’t eat raw fruit, (im working on that) but im definitely into raw veg and anything else healthy. I stumbled onto this raw website (rawmazing) after I bought a raw cheesecake from Planet Organic and I just had to look up the ingredients. The cheesecake was nothing short of amazing. It’s like ive never tasted an authentic dessert before I tasted this one. I couldn’t believe there was no dairy in it. (I’m also lactose intolerant). Since then, I’ve plunged into the world of raw foods. And im so excited of how much raw foods and recipes are out there, and best of all im so happy I discovered real tasting food! Nothing beats raw!

After all that, my question is, going 100% raw what drawbacks to the body will it have? What vitamin and mineral deficiencies would I encounter? and how will it affect me? Will I break out in rashes? Will I be lethargic for a period? Or is there a balanced raw diet that should be followed that meets all the bodies requirements? Basically an outlined daily dietary food requirement would be helpful?

Wow…what an amazing giveaway! There are so many raw recipes that require a dehydrator that I’ve been waiting to try.

My question is… have you heard of any research about body type or blood type in relation to being able to follow a strictly raw food/vegan diet?

Thank you for your wonderful website!

I am new to the world of raw food. What would you say are the most important tools a raw foodist needs? And which brands would you recommend?

How long are nuts good in the fridge after they have been soaked and dried? Thanks for this give away!

How much water does a raw foodist need to drink? I drink green smoothies and juices, but also do enjoy dehydrated foods. I just do not know how much water to consume?

I guess my main question about raw food is, what is the point of eating certain foods raw when/if they provide more nutrition when cooked? I am thinking about such foods as tomatoes and greens, which I am told are more nutritious after cooking.

Thanks! I really love this giveaway! 🙂

What a great giveaway! My question is do you think a large proportion of the nutrients are lost due to oxidation when blending?

Amazing giveaway! I have just began my raw food journey and I am already feeling more energetic and happy. My question is regarding soy foods such as edamame and tofu (not the processed junk)- where does this fit in into a raw diet? Should I cut them out completely or are they a good source of protein to be included a few times a week? Thanks and I appreciate your inspirational website!

Oh, the dehydrator I’ve been wanting 🙂 I hear its very quiet 🙂
    My question is:
How do you feel about a 70-90% raw lifestyle with some raw milk products? I’ve only lately heard about this, and would love to hear your thoughts.
