Dehydrator Giveaway!

The time has come to do our first giveaway and is it ever a good one! Many raw food recipes require a dehydrator and if you don’t have one, it can be challenging. One of the most common questions I get is how to prepare the raw food recipes without a dehydrator. I hope to fix that problem for one of you!

The great folks over at TSM Dehydrators have donated a 300.00, 5 shelf, stainless Dehydrator, the D5! I couldn’t be happier to be able to offer this! I have one of these dehydrators. It is my favorite. It is quiet, sturdy, very easy to pull apart and clean and does a great job at temperature control. I have checked. Continue for the rules!

Here are the rules:

Enter by simply asking a question you have about raw food in the comment area.

Only one entry allowed per person.

Entries will close at 6pm on Thursday, March 18th, 2010.

Winner will be randomly selected and announced following the contest.

I will be answering your questions in upcoming blog posts!

    Hi Susan!!

Have you read “12 Steps to Raw Foods: How to End Your Addiction to Cooked Food”? I ask because I am curious if you agree with the author that cooked food is a true addiction. She makes an excellent, most convincing case.

(I’ve been mulling this over and over … and the one part in the book that just hits me so hard is where it states that even if you’re eating 98% or 99% raw …. you’re not getting *ANYWHERE NEAR* the benefits of eating 100% raw. I found this so disheartening…)

How do you feel about the spiritual/philosophical side of raw food? It seems like for many people who strongly resonate with a raw food lifestyle, the underlying ideas about life energy can become an important part of the experience — even if this wasn’t part of their reasoning for exploring raw food in the first place. Do you think these more cosmic feelings about raw food are very common?

How important do you think it is to get a Vitamix? I have a pretty crappy blender currently and can’t afford a Vitamix, but I was wondering if I should save up some money over the next year and get one? How often do you use yours? I’m pretty new to raw foods and use my food processor constantly but I’ve been wondering about the Vitamix/blender situation since so many raw food bloggers seem to love their Vitamixes!

With a balanced raw organic diet, do you think supplementation is necessary? I love the idea of adding nutrition to my diet with nutrient dense superfood powders and healthy add-ins, (blue-green algae, goji berries, maca) but they are often times SO pricey. Can one still be a healthy, glowing raw-foodist while keeping it simple with fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds?
