Monday Give Away: UrthBag!
Monica Ralli, founder of UrthBags, has sent us this beautiful “Angelina” recycled magazine handbag for our Monday give away! UrthBags are the Eco-Chic handbags made with the health of the planet in mind. I have one of these little beauties sitting on the kitchen table, and believe me, it is fantastic.
Monica has always tried to live a sustainable life by recycling everything possible, shopping locally at farmers markets, avoiding toxic chemicals by choosing organic, etc. Looking in her closet one evening filled with handbags, purses, totes, gym bags, etc., She thought to herself, why couldn’t these same, stylish designs be made from salvaged, recycled & discarded materials? After much researching, sourcing materials, locating and organizing women’s groups, she created UrthBags Eco-Chic Handbags.
Monica also follows a predominantly raw diet and has for over 20 years. She strongly advocate consuming sustainable, fresh food diet that is as close to its natural state as possible. Sisterhood!
This beautiful bag’s retail value is 72.00. Thank you Monica!

We use our own well water in stainless steel water bottles, we recycle, we compost, we grow our own vegetables here, and I buy as much as I can locally at farmer’s markets. I don’t buy from other continents like fruit from New Zealand, or produce from Chile. I limit how much I drive (I have 4 kids) and my husband drives a fuel efficient car to work every day. I also don’t buy plastic sandwich bags for the kids lunch boxes, I use wax paper to wrap sandwiches or use containers for lunch items. And of course, I bring my own reusable bags to the grocery store/farmer’s markets. We also eat mostly vegetarian so as not to support factory farms.

One of the things I do constantly is to use a stainless steel water bottle. Not throwing plastics away for me!

I am a hairstylist and have gotten my salon to save all of our hair clippings to be made into oil filters. I always recycle everything I can. My dry cleaners takes my old hangers which is great.
Every little bit helps.

I recycle, use a refillable water bottle, ride my bicycle everywhere I can, bring my own bags to the grocery store and I am a crafter/designer and I upcycle older clothing and used stuff to make it something different so it can be used again as a new item

I don’t own a car so everywhere I go is by walking or biking… and I always have my re-usable water bottle with me! It makes me feel so alive to be out in the fresh air… especially when the suns shinning 🙂

I have been a going green fanatic – between using public transportation, walking or riding bikes. Taking lunch to work in reusable contains instead of plastic/paper bags. Composting, clothes line to dry clothes… the list goes on and on. It is so easy to go green, if you give it a little thought. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the bag! I have been trying to figure out for the longest time, how to make these bags.. would love to win it!
