Monday Give Away: UrthBag!

Monica Ralli, founder of UrthBags, has sent us this beautiful “Angelina” recycled magazine handbag for our Monday give away! UrthBags are the Eco-Chic handbags made with the health of the planet in mind. I have one of these little beauties sitting on the kitchen table, and believe me, it is fantastic.

Monica has always tried to live a sustainable life by recycling everything possible, shopping locally at farmers markets, avoiding toxic chemicals by choosing organic, etc.  Looking in her closet one evening filled with handbags, purses, totes, gym bags, etc., She thought to herself, why couldn’t these same, stylish designs be made from salvaged, recycled & discarded materials?   After much researching, sourcing materials, locating and organizing women’s groups, she created UrthBags Eco-Chic Handbags.

Monica also follows a predominantly raw diet and has for over 20 years. She strongly advocate consuming sustainable, fresh food diet that is as close to its natural state as possible. Sisterhood!

This beautiful bag’s retail value is 72.00. Thank you Monica!

    FUN bag! 🙂

My favorite way of being green is by eating a raw & living foods diet … I also compost. 🙂 I LOVE mother Earth! xoxo

I have been adding to my growing list of environmentally friendly ways for over 20 years. I am always watching for a new idea. From recycling, to reusable grocery and produce bags, to non-toxic beauty, household, and cleaning products, to glass storage containers in the refrigerator and for lunch, to giving away what I no longer want or need.. the list goes on and on. I think one of my favorite things to do though is bring all my old sheets, bedding, towels, and anything soft and fluffy to the Humane Society.

I am changing over all of my cleaning products to natural ones that I make like window cleaner, floor cleaner and drain clog remover. I also use reusable bags for groceries.

We expanded out home garden this summer and grew enough to do our own canning! It’s easier than you think! Thank you.

What a beautiful bag 😀 The concept behind it makes it even more beautiful…

We are becoming more green by making all-in-one cloth diapers. We are using them as well as sharing with others. Every time we use our cloth diapers, we are one less disposable in the mountain at the landfill… My daughter is also nursing her son, which is not only better for him, but no packaging products in the landfill either.

I love what you do here, Susan!

For the past 3 years, I’ve participated in a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) so that I can support the local farm in my area. I love the beautiful organic fruits and vegetables that I get each week in the summer and early fall.

I am always looking for more ways that I can recycle, reuse, cut down on unnecessary purchases, and educate my children about why I try to be so environmentally conscious. My children and I are learning about preparing and maintaining a vegetable garden, which includes composting and pest control. Although this idea came from my sister, I am going to try it this year, rinse out and save crushed egg shells for grit on ice build up instead of sand or salt. Crossing my fingers it works well!!
