My biggest challenge (which sounds totally absurd, I know) is that I love cookbooks, un-cookbooks, colorful
recipes sooooo much it’s hard to stick to a menu plan.

My biggest challenge is.. myself! Specifically, my laziness. It’s just so easy being bored at home and reaching for something readily available, instead of going in the kitchen and spending a few minutes getting something ready.
I usually don’t keep highly processed food in my pantry. In Italy we do have some unhealthy stuff but not that much, and I’ve long learned to steer away from it. But I love, love, love bread and pretty much everything wheat based that comes out of an oven; and breakfasts and in-between-meals in Italy are all about sweet snacks, pieces of focaccia, slices of pizza, small sandwiches, and since I don’t live on my own there’s always a couple of those yummy things around the house. Sweet snacks expecially, as the rest is almost always bought and eaten right away.
I usually try to overcome my eating-when-I’m-bored by.. not thinking about food! Drinking herbal teas! And spending as much time out as I can 😛 worst of all is when I come back late (I work at a club in the weekends), having had dinner long before, thus feeling ready to ravage the fridge..

Being ‘the skinniest’ used to be my life goal – so unhealthy and wrong, I know. Now, my main worry when buying and eating food, is how the process – the farming, the travel, the preparation, the quantity and quality – affects the environment, both locally and globally.

My biggest challenge is when I get that mid afternoon slump and feel my blood sugar drop. I reach for crisps and sweet things so need to remove temptation and stop buying them! Also bread. I love bread!

I can do without it for a while..but….. .then I get sucked into temptation…ugh 🙁

p.s. I keep telling the dentist to extract my sweet tooth…

This eating raw sounds healthy but for the life of me I find it extremely difficult. I prepare a recipe each day and seems to be a hit or miss in taste. Help! I bought a dehydrator to make crackers, granola, etc. but so far it’s a no go situation. Some recipes were just nasty . I will keep trying as I have developed allergies to the preservatives in processed/ packaged foods.

I’m not giving up but perservering with frustration . Need to up my game plan!
