Avocado Coconut Oil Hair Mask

My darling daughter was recently in town for a visit. I can’t tell you how much fun it was to introduce her to my new home, the San Francisco Bay area. We had an amazing time and once again, I was reminded what a remarkable young woman she has grown into. I love that at 23, she is into healthy eating and skin care, creates a lot of her own recipes and is a wiz in the kitchen. We hiked, made food together, spent a day in the city and a day at the shore. It was a wonderful visit.

While she loved the heat without humidity, she was less impressed on the toll it had taken on my hair. “Mom, your hair looks a little dry and frizzy”, she informed me one afternoon. From the mouths of babes, right? I couldn’t disagree as I had been noticing the dryness myself. Off to the kitchen we went as I whipped up a great hair mask for both of us. We came up with some wonderful avocado recipes.

Honestly, I knew it would help, but I wasn’t prepared for the transformation these three simple ingredients created! Both Kaia (youngest daughter) and I ended up with hair that was shiny and silky. We both agreed that our hair hasn’t looked this good for months! I made an immediate promise to myself to use this mask at least once a month

This sounds great, I’m definitely going to try!

Sheila, Native American Nutritionals is a wonderful company to get essentials oils from. I have yet to find better quality and price 🙂

Apply to dry hair. Then rinse out the avocado mask and shampoo.

I honestly don’t know. I wouldn’t think so but if you are concerned, you may want to try it some where it won’t show first.

This looks amazing! Does it REALLY wash out? I had a very bad experience with coconut oil. No many how many times I washed my hair it was bent on remaining, and I looked like Professor Snape’s sister for the longest time, lol!

It washes out easily. 🙂 You can always shampoo twice if you are worried.

This sounds fabulous! I’ve lived by the beach for a year and a half now. And lately I’ve noticed my hair needs a little more love than it used to. Can’t wait to try this and treat my locks to some lusciousness. Thank you!
