KitchenAid 5-Speed Blender Give Away!
This contest has ended.

I couldn’t help myself. I saw a video on how the KitchenAid blender beat both the Vitamix and the Blendtec blenders in a test. Considering it is about 1/4 to 1/3rd the price, I just had to get one and put it through it’s paces. So for the next few days, I will be blending and reporting. And on Friday…because I want you all to know how much I appreciate you, I will be giving it away! (Make sure you read the rules below or your entry won’t count.)

To enter, simply leave a comment in the comment section telling me why you are interested in raw food. It can be as simple as one word, or as long as you like. I will pick a winner on Friday with a random number generator and announce who won on Friday. Entries will close at noon on Friday.

So far, I am pretty darn impressed. This is what I am eating for lunch. Right this minute. Slurp!

No fancy food photography today. I was hungry. And too excited to get this posted. Hurry up and enter before I decide to keep this little beauty! If you can’t wait until Friday, you can find one here: KitchenAid 5-Speed Blender
Ginger Peach Strawberry Smoothy
serves 2
- 1 cup frozen peaches
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 orange, peeled
- 1 1/2 cup almond milk
- 1-inch piece of ginger
1. Place all ingredients in blender.
2. Blend away.
How did the blender do with this recipe? Great. The only thing I had to do that I wouldn’t have had to do with the Vitamix (because it has a plunger) is stop and push it down once or twice. It blended smoothly….even the entire orange.

With low-fat, plant-based foods I experience a mental clarity that otherwise eludes me… More power to lucid thought!

My 2 year old daughter loves to drink smoothies, to say the word ‘smoofie’ and loves to watch me make them and wants to help: she hands me the pieces of fruit and throws them in the blender, she also stands on a stool so she can firmly hold the cover down to prevent the smoofie from flying out of the blender. We started raw a couple of months ago and have borrowed a simple blender from her grandma. We are moving cross country and have to give nana her blender back tomorrow 🙁
How amazing it is to raise a healthy happy child and watch her loving fruit and veggies! In our new yoga and conscious living center we hope to share our new passion for raw with more people. We will serve yummy life food to our guests and we are looking forward to sharing our morning smoofie rituals with others!

I’m interested in raw food because I like the idea of not killing off all those good living enzymes and nutrients.

Raw is easier on my digestive system. I’m not fully raw. The hardest part is breaking away from old habits and emotional connections with food.
