Dehydrator Giveaway!

The time has come to do our first giveaway and is it ever a good one! Many raw food recipes require a dehydrator and if you don’t have one, it can be challenging. One of the most common questions I get is how to prepare the raw food recipes without a dehydrator.
I hope to fix that problem for one of you!
The great folks over at TSM Dehydrators have donated a 300.00, 5 shelf, stainless Dehydrator, the D5! I couldn’t be happier to be able to offer this! I have one of these dehydrators. It is my favorite. It is quiet, sturdy, very easy to pull apart and clean and does a great job at temperature control. I have checked. Continue for the rules!
Here are the rules:
Enter by simply asking a question you have about raw food in the comment area.
Only one entry allowed per person.
Entries will close at 6pm on Thursday, March 18th, 2010.
Winner will be randomly selected and announced following the contest.
I will be answering your questions in upcoming blog posts!

I would like to enter the drawing for the dehydrator! My question is how will I know I am meeting all my nutrient needs on a raw diet and do I need to take supplements?

How long can dehydrated foods made at home last for? I’d love to make my own ‘to go’ foods without the addition of stabilizers and preservatives.

What do you suggest as raw alternatives for maintaining the higher protein levels necessary for body building, while reducing fat intake?

I have wondered quite a while now, that don’t you get tired to all those nuts, since raw-foodists use them in almost every recipe (lasagne, ice cream, cake frosting etc.)? To me too much nuts causes tiredness. Other problem is that they costs so much for a student budget.
Thanks for this great blog!

Are we getting all of the nutrients from foods like tomatoes and spinach whose nutrients, the “experts” say, are most available only after cooking?
Thanks!

Do you have a great raw granola recipe?

What a great giveaway!
My question is: do you have an organized effective way to keep track of both sprouting, and dehydrating with a goal of always having food available…especially for two or more rawbies??? I never seem to be able to make sure something is always available. We’re usually waiting hours or a day for something to be ready!

Do dehydrators make foods toasted or more chewy? and does dehydrating bring out more nutrients like steaming can do?

What is the best way to store raw food if you can not eat it right away? Thank you.
