Dehydrator Giveaway!

The time has come to do our first giveaway and is it ever a good one! Many raw food recipes require a dehydrator and if you don’t have one, it can be challenging. One of the most common questions I get is how to prepare the raw food recipes without a dehydrator. I hope to fix that problem for one of you!

The great folks over at TSM Dehydrators have donated a 300.00, 5 shelf, stainless Dehydrator, the D5! I couldn’t be happier to be able to offer this! I have one of these dehydrators. It is my favorite. It is quiet, sturdy, very easy to pull apart and clean and does a great job at temperature control. I have checked. Continue for the rules!

Here are the rules:

Enter by simply asking a question you have about raw food in the comment area.

Only one entry allowed per person.

Entries will close at 6pm on Thursday, March 18th, 2010.

Winner will be randomly selected and announced following the contest.

I will be answering your questions in upcoming blog posts!

I soak/germinate my nuts and then dehydrate them when I purchase them. Can I use them in this state in recipes that call for soaked nuts, or do I need to re-soak them?

Thanks for your website, and this drawing! I always look forward to seeing Rawmazing in my inbox.

What kind of spices are allowed inside of a Raw food diet? I know many spices are roasted before being used and I was wondering how one would get around that.

So… where do you get your protein? 😀

On a more serious note: What are the top 5 or 10 recipes you would suggest for most easily integrating superfoods, like goji berries, raw cacao, maca, … into a raw food diet?

    Background:
I currently am working with some of my family members on a 30 day trial of raw food + superfoods to create an awesome experience for them “cooking”-, eating- and health-wise, because they are really suffering from a bunch of nasty health issues all based on wrong dietary choices… 🙂
So those suggestions would come in quite handily!

Thanks for the chance to win the dehydrator!

Can you dehydrate potatoes? I guess you would have to soak them to get rid of the starch, but was wondering if you can make a potato chip dehydrated?

    Thank you

Long time blog-stalker, first time commenter; I wanted to ask you about the nutritional value of nut milks. I am trying to drop a couple of pounds and worry that the calories in my homemade almond, cashew milks may be too high for me. Thank you, thank you!

Do you feel wine is acceptable as part of the raw food diet? I hear differing opinions.

Since I’m not a fan of coconut (despite the fact that I use coconut oil and sometimes coconut milk in my cooking) and I’m a huge fan of raw nut butters, do you have any alternative raw favorites to coconut butter?

    Lisa, chocolate can indeed be raw…it’s all I use…and I don’t use sweetener either…

okay, sorry, I know I’m supposed to be asking the questions not answering them.

I often wonder if one can really get enough grounded energy from a 100% raw diet? I love raw food but can’t imagine taking a total plunge.

    thanks for this opportunity.

What advice do you have for people who develop severe nutritional deficiencies after being 100% raw for a long period of time. I find many people develop these issues after prolonged raw foodism without supplementation. Thanks much! Thanks for offering this contest, too! Blessings!
