Dehydrator Giveaway!

The time has come to do our first giveaway and is it ever a good one! Many raw food recipes require a dehydrator and if you don’t have one, it can be challenging. One of the most common questions I get is how to prepare the raw food recipes without a dehydrator.
I hope to fix that problem for one of you!
The great folks over at TSM Dehydrators have donated a 300.00, 5 shelf, stainless Dehydrator, the D5! I couldn’t be happier to be able to offer this! I have one of these dehydrators. It is my favorite. It is quiet, sturdy, very easy to pull apart and clean and does a great job at temperature control. I have checked. Continue for the rules!
Here are the rules:
Enter by simply asking a question you have about raw food in the comment area.
Only one entry allowed per person.
Entries will close at 6pm on Thursday, March 18th, 2010.
Winner will be randomly selected and announced following the contest.
I will be answering your questions in upcoming blog posts!

I have read conflicting things about which is better: juicing vs. blending (greens/veggies/fruit). What is your opinion on this issue and why? Thanks!

I’m allergic to nuts, very wary of tree nuts because of this… what are some good alternatives as far as recipes/nutrition goes?

Oh my god! I love dehydrating food and experimenting with raw. However, my question is, how can you eat all this wonderful raw food on a tight budget? Where I live, large amounts of raw nuts, coconut, cacao, stuff like that is SUPER expensive.

How long to almonds need to soak for the soaking to be effective?
Thanks for the chance at the giveaway!

Wow that dehydrator is beautiful!
My question is about raw cacao vs chocolate. I have read that there is something that happens in the heating process of cacao that makes it a less stable substance leading to more of a caffeine effect rather than the calming sensations that the raw cacao tends to have. Do you know anything about this?

What a great giveaway. I want to say thank you so much for offering this great dehydrator. My question is kind of a double one. What was your reason for taking the raw path and what are your greatest challenges to stay on this path?
Thank you again and take care, Paul LeMay

Are there any fruits, veggies, grains, nuts, etc. that we *shouldn’t* eat raw?

What a great idea for a giveaway!
My questions is, why is so difficult to convince people to join eating raw?

I don’t have a dehydrator. Can I dehydrate food using my oven?
