Dehydrator Giveaway!

The time has come to do our first giveaway and is it ever a good one! Many raw food recipes require a dehydrator and if you don’t have one, it can be challenging. One of the most common questions I get is how to prepare the raw food recipes without a dehydrator.
I hope to fix that problem for one of you!
The great folks over at TSM Dehydrators have donated a 300.00, 5 shelf, stainless Dehydrator, the D5! I couldn’t be happier to be able to offer this! I have one of these dehydrators. It is my favorite. It is quiet, sturdy, very easy to pull apart and clean and does a great job at temperature control. I have checked. Continue for the rules!
Here are the rules:
Enter by simply asking a question you have about raw food in the comment area.
Only one entry allowed per person.
Entries will close at 6pm on Thursday, March 18th, 2010.
Winner will be randomly selected and announced following the contest.
I will be answering your questions in upcoming blog posts!

My question: does ANYBODY have a savory-type bar recipe? I love the idea of nice portable food bars to take with me when I need a quick fix or am running errands out and about…. however, sometimes I’m just not in the mood for something sweet, which seems to be the only option. Savory bar recipes? Anyone?

This is so exciting!! I have been trying to purchase a dehydrator for nearly a year now and haven’t been able to afford it.
My questions is about fasting/ detoxing. How often should you do this, if at all, and what is the best one to do? I love the idea of raw foods and am trying to transition slowly, but am wondering if it makes sense to fast or detox first, then transition.
Also, do you have any tips for ensuring your produce stays good? I work extremely long hours during the week and it’s hard to get to the grocery store more than once a week- but by the time Thursday comes around, a lot of my produce has gone bad. Do you freeze anything or does this get rid of some of the nutrients?

What is your favorite quick raw food to eat when you have a salt, (or pizza :>), craving? Also, what salad dressing do you like to always have on hand?

Beautiful dehydrator! I have a cereal-loving boyfriend who I just know would LOVE it if I could find a way to raw-ify this favorite snack for him. Almond or other nut mylks is a given but my question is: Is there any other way to make a convincing raw cereal substitute without just dehydrating sprouted buckwheat?
