Dehydrator Giveaway!

The time has come to do our first giveaway and is it ever a good one! Many raw food recipes require a dehydrator and if you don’t have one, it can be challenging. One of the most common questions I get is how to prepare the raw food recipes without a dehydrator.
I hope to fix that problem for one of you!
The great folks over at TSM Dehydrators have donated a 300.00, 5 shelf, stainless Dehydrator, the D5! I couldn’t be happier to be able to offer this! I have one of these dehydrators. It is my favorite. It is quiet, sturdy, very easy to pull apart and clean and does a great job at temperature control. I have checked. Continue for the rules!
Here are the rules:
Enter by simply asking a question you have about raw food in the comment area.
Only one entry allowed per person.
Entries will close at 6pm on Thursday, March 18th, 2010.
Winner will be randomly selected and announced following the contest.
I will be answering your questions in upcoming blog posts!

I’m new to raw and am a bit put off by all the dependence on nuts and/or coconut to make many raw desserts. What’s your favorite non-nut-based raw dessert?

I am new to this way of eating. And not to long ago my son was diagnosed with many food allergies including nuts and peanuts, lentils and garbanzo beans. This limits to what I can give him. I notice that in many of your recipes you use nuts like cashews etc. Can I substitute many of the nuts with seeds like pumpkin, sunflower etc?
Your website is amazing and I come to it every single day. I love it!
Love,
Jessie R.

I would love a dehydrator! I have been on the market now for weeks!
My question is…
What’s the best way to prepare myself for a weekend with friends? I will be entertaining this coming weekend, and I’m the only Raw foodist… Help? What do I feel to those who are so used to meat and potatoes?

My question is; Do you have any recipes using sprouted quinoa?

I’d really love to get this dehydrator; I’ve been reading about a lot of great looking dehydrated foods and am remiss that I can’t enjoy them because I don’t have any way to dehydrate. So, fingers crossed!
My question is about juices. I got a juicer for christmas and I love it, but I’m wondering how long juice will last. I don’t have time to make fresh juice every morning (well, I don’t have time to clean the juicer anyway). Can I make a bunch on Sunday and drink it all week or will it go bad? Any tips for keeping juice fresh and delicious would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello, I would love to learn the best recipes and ways to use a dehydrator! I have always wanted one and couldn’t afford one so far on my raw journey and this would be like best birthday present ever:)

I love the results of so many raw recipes and the intense flavor of dehydrated foods. My problem is trying to plan for so many meals in a week without having the dehydrator running 24-7. How do you plan a week of meals in advance to get the most out of drying time? Now I’m cheating (question # 2), but, how much of a stock pile of pre-dehydrated foods do/should you have?
Thanks.

I love your blog and all of the recipes I have tried so far! I currently eat a very raw diet and I am trying to find the right balance for my body because I get very thin easily. My question is what are the key foods to incorporate daily to maintain a natural body weight and muscle mass?
Thanks!!

why don’t my dehydrated crackers EVER get crispy, no matter how long I dehydrate them for? Is it because of my dehydrator? (I don’t want to say the name, but it’s supposed to be a good one). I need a new one!
