Dehydrator Giveaway!

The time has come to do our first giveaway and is it ever a good one! Many raw food recipes require a dehydrator and if you don’t have one, it can be challenging. One of the most common questions I get is how to prepare the raw food recipes without a dehydrator.
I hope to fix that problem for one of you!
The great folks over at TSM Dehydrators have donated a 300.00, 5 shelf, stainless Dehydrator, the D5! I couldn’t be happier to be able to offer this! I have one of these dehydrators. It is my favorite. It is quiet, sturdy, very easy to pull apart and clean and does a great job at temperature control. I have checked. Continue for the rules!
Here are the rules:
Enter by simply asking a question you have about raw food in the comment area.
Only one entry allowed per person.
Entries will close at 6pm on Thursday, March 18th, 2010.
Winner will be randomly selected and announced following the contest.
I will be answering your questions in upcoming blog posts!

I love making kale chips. However, they do not come out the same when you bake them instead of dehydrate them. A dehydrator would be great!
My question is: What is your suggested approach and/or food combinations for someone that wants to incorporate raw foods into their lifestyle that is both feasible and tasty?
Thanks!!

Hi, Love your website! Great information and recipes! What a wonderful giveaway!
A couple of month ago I decided to change the way I eat after feeling heavy and bloated all the time. I thought that I was eating healthy (I don’t eat meat for 20 years)but after discovering sites like yours I got great information and changed the way I eat.
My question is: which nuts we should always soak on water before we eat?
Thank you so much!

Hello,
I love all the new ways you have shown me how to make food using raw ingredients. I don’t have a dehydrator at the present time and am wondering if an oven could be used at a lot temperature instead. Also I am wondering if there is anything I can substitute young coconut for since I am not able to find them where I live.
Thank you,
N

What a wonderful giveaway!
My question: What are the best raw food cookbooks out there for *everyday* eating (i.e. not fancy meals that take 3 blenders and 10 hours to prepare!)?

I am very new to raw foods and this blog and was brought here by a dear friend who decided to go raw to assist her body in healing several health issues. Did you go raw for a health reason outside of overall better health?

I love to explore new recipes, but I also (and I think most people do) have a few meals that I just keep going back to when I’m in the mood for something familiar/a recipe that I’ve already mastered.
So, what are YOUR top 5 (or top 10) “staple” recipes: those ones that you love to prepare on a regular/weekly basis or one’s that you use as a “base recipe” for new creations?
PS: You are a raw food genius! Thanks for the inspiration!

Do you know how to make something in raw food that resembles a flour tortilla?

My biggest difficulty with raw food is having to go food shopping so frequently. Do you go food shopping multiple times a week? Thanks!
