Dehydrator Giveaway!

The time has come to do our first giveaway and is it ever a good one! Many raw food recipes require a dehydrator and if you don’t have one, it can be challenging. One of the most common questions I get is how to prepare the raw food recipes without a dehydrator. I hope to fix that problem for one of you!

The great folks over at TSM Dehydrators have donated a 300.00, 5 shelf, stainless Dehydrator, the D5! I couldn’t be happier to be able to offer this! I have one of these dehydrators. It is my favorite. It is quiet, sturdy, very easy to pull apart and clean and does a great job at temperature control. I have checked. Continue for the rules!

Here are the rules:

Enter by simply asking a question you have about raw food in the comment area.

Only one entry allowed per person.

Entries will close at 6pm on Thursday, March 18th, 2010.

Winner will be randomly selected and announced following the contest.

I will be answering your questions in upcoming blog posts!

Is there a trick to “sprouting” wild rice. I rinsed and drained mine for 7 days waiting for it to get soft and split open, but it ended super crunchy and not so yummy. Wild rice is so expensive, so I want to make sure I am doing it right. Any suggestions? Also, anyone tried sprouting other kinds of rice? Brown? Red? I’d love to know your tips!

I love to try new recipes and read all of the different blogs about Raw Food. Who are some of your favorite raw food chefs and or books?

How does sending a dehydrator to a friend, who needs to make raw cakes for a fussy father and her own healing journey sound? I can’t be original- i just want my friend, who deserves more than anyone i know (she’s a noble sort) to be able to uncook the most nutritious and delicious medicine on the planet. Oh, just what is the official temperature for living foods really?

I have a question on Agave…..you use it alot in all your recipes, is there anything else that can be used instead of Agave?

Thanks for the chance to win, i love your blog. I am just starting in the raw foods area, and i have been told to stay away from grains and dairy…so im pretty limited and your site has been helpful. thanks so much.

So you like this dehydrator model better than the Excalibur? I have heard that the Excalibur makes a lot of noise. But you say this one offered in your giveaway is quiet? Cool! I’ve only used my oven at 100 degrees to dehydrate some nuts I soaked the night before. I’m so excited to own one of these handy machines one day!
