Dehydrator Giveaway!

The time has come to do our first giveaway and is it ever a good one! Many raw food recipes require a dehydrator and if you don’t have one, it can be challenging. One of the most common questions I get is how to prepare the raw food recipes without a dehydrator. I hope to fix that problem for one of you!

The great folks over at TSM Dehydrators have donated a 300.00, 5 shelf, stainless Dehydrator, the D5! I couldn’t be happier to be able to offer this! I have one of these dehydrators. It is my favorite. It is quiet, sturdy, very easy to pull apart and clean and does a great job at temperature control. I have checked. Continue for the rules!

Here are the rules:

Enter by simply asking a question you have about raw food in the comment area.

Only one entry allowed per person.

Entries will close at 6pm on Thursday, March 18th, 2010.

Winner will be randomly selected and announced following the contest.

I will be answering your questions in upcoming blog posts!

I’ve been a raw foodie for over a year. My main goal is to eventually eliminate medication. Is it possible to eliminate some or all medications when embarking on a 100% raw lifestyle?

    Aloha Susan,
I asked my question yesterday but do not see it posted. Hmmm….
What do you consider the most important foods to be eaten everyday by a raw foodist to ensure continuity of nutrition?
Your site absolutely beautiful and inspiring!
    Thank you for your efforts!

    Dear Susan,
THANK YOU for always willing to share all of your inspiring creations! Your work in absolutely incredible! Including your photography! My daughter has a love for photography too and you have truly inspired her to use her camera more, she too now has started her own 365 photography blog site. THANK YOU it’s awesome to see her push herself to be all she can be!
My question in regards to the contest would be: Do you also use/make your own raw facial/body products? I am striving to not only treat my insides to raw, vegan foods but also my outside. I look forward to your feedback! Thanks again for all you do to inspire the rest of us! Robin 🙂

Your website is most appealing, very informative and highly addictive!!!
I do, from time to time use my dehydrator for a number of snacks and breads using either fruits of sprouted wheat berries. I would like to know more about issues concerning bacteria, (in particular when dealing with fruit, or wheat berries). Unless all possible moisture is completely dried out, wouldn’t it be susceptible to developing bacteria during the long dehydration period?

    Keep up the fantastic work!!!

    Cheers,

    Paula

Hi I been eating mostly raw since the 1st of the month. One of the things I notice I am trying to compensate for is bread and cheese. Do you know of raw recipe that gives you the same fluffy texture you get from a good artisan bread ? Thanks for all the good recipes and info it is much appreciated.

Do you have any suggestions for balancing blood sugar, while eating mainly raw? I tend to get migraines when I eat 100% raw.
I have only heard about Excalibur dehydrators and the inexpensive round ones that they sell at mass-market retailers. My concern with the Excalibur is the plastic, and thus breakable, front cover. So, thank you for including the link to the manufacturer. I am going to investigate their unit!
