If you enjoyed the “How to Make Raw Flaked Oats” post, you will love this give-away! It is a grain grinder and grain flaker just for you so you can make your own raw sprouted oat flakes and other raw sprouted flours and flakes!

This NorPro Grain Grinder does it all, both flakes and flour. I put it through it’s paces and almost decided to keep it! It did a great job with both flaking and grinding.

To enter the contest, just leave a comment telling us why you are eating healthy and also approximately what percentage of raw food you eat.  You can only enter once and the contest closes on Thursday, May 16th at 9:00 am PST. I have had multiple sclerosis for about 15 years. Over the past five, I have opted to change my diet to heal my body. Eating raw for a portion of my day (about 1 meal), has helped. Thanks so much for having this give away! Love your site!

I eat a healthy diet because I cherish my body! Eating healthily keeps me in tune with my body’s needs. Plus, I simply enjoy healthy foods more than junk. They do so much more for me. I would say I eat about 50% raw. Some days more, some days probably (and sadly!) less. That’s just an estimate though–hopefully I eat a higher percentage than that on most days!

It just makes sense to me…a living body needs living foods in order to thrive! All of the years of eating cooked foods meant that my body was struggling to “live.” Now that I am on a 30 day fast, I cannot wait to come off it and begin consuming raw and living foods 90-100% of the time.

I started abruptly changing our family’s eating habits when we discovered a gluten intolerance in some of our family members. We probably eat about 50% raw as a whole, perhaps more, depending on the season. We’ve seen learning disabilities get handled, auto immune issues go away, and no more need for blood pressure medicines. We’re hooked for good!

I eat more raw food in the summer, when there are lovely fruit. I can then eat probably 80% raw food.. but in the winter, it is down to about 50-60%. I am sick, and want to eat more raw food in the winter as well, when I feel the need for heavier food.

I went vegan back in the year 2000 when I was 18 and moved out of my parents house. I initially went vegan for the animals but then began reading about the environmental impact and started to get more interested in nutrition. I feel like I am constantly trying to improve the nutritional quality of the food I eat and serve to my husband and kids and sites like yours and a few others have been so helpful to us on our food journey. If I lived by myself I would probably eat about 90% raw, but my young kids and husband have different tastes in food. Sometimes I try to cook a separate raw meal for myself but usually end up feeling that making two separate meals is way to much work with two little ones. I suppose I vary between 40-60 percent raw most days and always feel better on days when I eat more raw. A big smoothie and a big salad are must-haves for me everyday and I make the majority of our food from scratch. I’ve had my eye on this oat roller/flaker for a while and would love to make it part of my collection of useful kitchen gadgets!

I love raw – never liked cooked veges so was ready to pee my pants when I saw all the foods with veges and tasted them – I live in Chicago and saw so many foods that Karyn’s had prepped – made it easy to believe I could take on this type of lifestyle. Healthy bonuses all along the way – probably 75% raw. Since you made me feel comfortable with oats (something I heard and don’t remember what kept me away from them) I have been using them and loving them – this would be a lovely win ; )

Since eating raw I have lost 35 pounds, blood pressure is great, acid reflux is gone and I have tons of energy. How could I NOT eat raw! :-). Thanks for all your encouragement.
