    Susan-

What a generous offer! Thank you for it and all that you do to encourage and support all of us!

I read “Diet for a New America” 23 years ago and went vegan overnight. I started out mostly for compassion for animals and concern for the environment, but continued to clean my diet up over the years, which has led me to my passion for raw foods. I have been eating a 90% raw diet now for almost 6 years.

I think I look and feel better than I did 20 years ago. I spend about 20 hours a week preparing raw food, my favorite hobby. I’m a life coach and I enjoy sharing what I make and the creativity and health benefits of a raw diet with my friends and clients.

    Thank you!

The venture into raw eating began with a consultation with my naturopath — the conversation about jump starting my endocrine system quickly came about as a raw nutrition protocol. Six months later, I have gathered an extensive repertoire of raw-tastic recipes, largely in thanks to your work. As I make the transition this summer to medical school, I am quite confident that my 75-80% raw diet will serve me well. Thanks for the opportunity to add another tool to my mad-scientist’s kitchen!

I would say I eat raw at least 50% of the day. Mostly because I make a fresh green smoothie every morning with lettuce, spinach, avocado, apple, banana, celery and pear. For lunch I have a mixed berry smoothie with cacao, spinach and a banana and stevia. And dinner? Well it depends on the events of the day. Love this blog and the recipes.

I love learning new things that I can do at home to feed my family. My son has aspergers (not much information on) and my daughters has eczema all over her body. When I changed my childrens diet to more raw foods and started making gluten-free breads, removing dairy and replacing it with homemade almond and coconut milk life took a turn for the better. What a change. My daughter’s skin has improved and my son’s mood swings are more controlled. His skin has also cleared up (teenage boy). With the summer months upon us we eat fresh fruits and veggies all day. Mine and my husbands energy levels have improved and we feel so much better. We have survived winter and spring with not a sniffle in sight (no flue shot).

We eat about 60% raw. I started looking into food as medicine to help my husband, who is ill. What works we keep, and we experiment a lot. Your e-newsletters are very helpful. Thanks!

I started eating healthier about a year ago after my second child. I could not lose weight and started looking into reasons why. I’ve watched many food documentaries and have a greater understanding as to what current food is doing to us. It is sad very sad.
I would say that my family and I eat about 80% raw food and 100% vegan! I love the results and the feeling of never having to worry about cancer and the things that can harm us in our food. I grow my own fruits and veggies and love it!
We get made fun of all the time from those who are non-vegan and believe that animals were here for us to eat, but I always tell them; think about it, if God put animals here for us to eat why did Adam and Eve live peacefully with them?
It’s amazing how many animal products are in breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. It’s crazy watching people and my friends eat.

I am 37 yrs old and have been in the last year 100% raw. In the past 7 yrs I have been living with type 1 diabetes and trying to reverse the effects of that. Since going raw on mostly fruits and vegetables I have been able to reduce my insulin needs by 75% and still improving. I enjoy many of the recipes that you offer and look forward to many more. While my family is not 100% I am making more living foods and this grain grinder looks like a great fit to our lifestyle. Thank you for all you do~ it is greatly appreciated.

I eat healthy because my health is my responsibility. I need to be strong and healthy to do the things I do. Currently I eat from 50% -80% raw and am working to be on the high end. It is very challenging as I live in a small community on the Northern Oregon Coast. There is not a lot of variety or abundance. Preparing my own food is a necessity.
