I eat healthy because I love and respect my body and love to feel amazing! I went vegetarian over 7 years ago, when I was 16, and less than 2 years later I had to cut out gluten because my body was having very uncomfortable reactions to it… even in the slightest amounts. I was definitely not a healthy-eating vegetarian – lots of gluten free breads, pastas and cheese, and not so many veggies. Over 3 years ago I was introduced to the raw-vegan lifestyle, decided to give it a shot, and within a couple weeks I felt SO much better. I still do. I’m continuously improving my diet by eating more organic foods, local foods, sprouting all my nuts and seeds, and juicing (including wheatgrass). My diet is about 85-95% raw vegan foods, depending on the season. This website has helped keep me inspired and enjoying delicious nourishing foods. Thank you Susan and the rest of Rawmazing!

I like to eat healthily because it makes me feel good, makes my body feel strong! We eat about 40 to 60% raw. Love your recipes, thanks xxx

I love eating healthy because it directly affects how I feel on a moment-to-moment basis. Plus, I like that it’s better for the planet. Healthful food requires less energy going to processing, cooking, and farming.
Because I have a mild raw food allergy (leading to an allergic lip reaction), I eat only about 10% of my food raw. But I enjoy it deeply!
Thank you for the excellent recipes and fun stories.

Hi, good afternoon! I eat healthy and 70% raw because it makes me feel so energetic and so I can remain in top form for my husband and continue giving the best of care for my Mom; I want to be around for her 95th birthday and his too! Adding raw organic foods to our diet has gotten my Mom off her myriad Rx’s and kept us all away from mainstream medical institutions. I am more productive and have more energy when eating this way. Raw soaked grains are being added weekly to our menu, and this machine will really help with that.

I eat raw because my body ‘tells’ me this is this best tasting and best feeling way to eat. Processed and contaminated foods have put me in a state of lethargy and constant pain and it’s discouraging that it is so difficult to conveniently obtain and afford to eat healthy but there are ways to do it, so the journey is a long one to higher raw percentages. Currently I am at about 40-50% raw, mostly consisting of whole raw fruits and veg rather than recipes but in time I’ll make time to do those regularly. I love oats, they’re so filling, incredibly healthy and versatile – this grinder would be great to win!

I have been eating raw since 1977… a follower of Ann Wigmore, who was the true pioneer of the movement. I was a 25 year old mother nursing my 2cd son, and facing breast cancer. I lost my mother at age 6 in 1958 and was told because both my mother and I had cancer before menopause I had a 75% change of perishing within 5 years. This along with the rare form. I did not start eating “health” food because of it. I was blessed to be in a family that honored their body with good food and was a way of life. After years of staying pretty balanced (did not do treatment … only lumpectomy… rare in 1977) I stayed vibrant until moving in a home (unknown at time) insulated with urea-foam formaldehyde. Not only did it poison my system but decades later my family is still suffering from the exposure with various health issues.
I started Gerson therapy in 1999 and because of my husband, who insisted that I follow the protocol exactly, I started with 50-70 % cooked food. What a toll on my body going from raw to cooked along with the detoxing protocol! With the cancer in my liver and bones, Charlotte Gerson explained they did not have a high success with liver involvement. I am still here despite many challenges. I went back to 75-80% in 2008 and now fully 100% raw since end of 2009 when my son had to move back to Houston. My husband left in 2008 when Hurricane Ike destroyed our home so now I am limited on funds. This grain maker would allow me to make many foods for me and my son’s family who are trying to nourish their children as I nourished them.If I had extra I would of bought it years ago.I don’t like using the Vitamix because of the heat generated when processing grains. My Vitamix (commercial model) that I saved for back in early 1980 is STILL going strong. These are tools I plan on passing down to my family!!!! I love your website it celebrates food while bringing education and nourishment!!!

Good afternoon 🙂
I eat healthy because I love the way I feel when I do and more importantly want to avoid being sick and suffering from eating the wrong types of food.
My typical diet consists of about 75% raw. There are weeks where it ebbs and flows, but every now and then a cupcake or piece of chocolate gets in the way..
Thanks for sharing your awesome blog with all of us. I bought a dehydrator a couple of years ago and your input helped me out a lot!
cheers!
