I adopted a highly-raw diet to combat a few issues that were troublesome (digestion and Rosacea to name a few) and they’ve cleared up once I gave up the SAD. I eat at least 90% raw vegan and have never felt better.

About three years ago I became very I’ll from the foods I was eating. Last year I took a food intolerance test and realized I need to become a raw vegan; I just recently made the transition. I eat about 80% raw.

Hello! My first adventure into raw foods was in the 90’s, when I read Fit for Life by Harvey and Marilyn Diamond. It was in an attempt to stop my frequent diarrhea and gross abdominal discomfort and bloating. When I first began, I was about 80% raw, and I couldn’t believe the increase in my energy level! Soon after, I became pregnant, after six years of trying, and dropped the idea of raw foods in lieu of a more conventional diet that my ‘baby would thrive on’. I just didn’t see the connection. It’s sad, but there it is. I returned to eating raw when my symptoms grew too bad for me to leave the house. I was diagnosed, in 2008, with a severe gluten intolerance. My kidney’s, liver, and heart were failing. Every muscle in my body hurt, I had symptoms of Lupus, my memory was shot, and I had two young children to take care of. Once again, I felt health begin to reemerge from deep within. It was such a strong conversion from illness to health that it became my first concern – only second to my children. Even my children flourished on the raw foods. They actually preferred raw foods! When I blended up my raw meals and fed them, they ate every bite – when I put a jarred baby food in front of them they got finicky. Go figure! In 2011 I ventured off to college to learn Holistic Nutrition. Oh my goodness! Today, I am only about 60% to 70% raw. I eat fresh, cooked chicken eggs, and a lot of my mom’s cooked meats. Who can resist that? My health is probably the best it’s been in my life, and yet I still have a ways to go to reach my potential. It’s my belief that you just can’t get to your best self with diet alone; not even diet and exercise. For me, it’s Body, Mind and Spirit together that catapult the human body into true health – which is different for everyone. I believe true health must begin in the thought processes of our daily living. There is no limit to health, even for the ‘disabled’. Blessings to you all! ~Brenda

I began eaing raw a little over a year ago after a diagnosis of breast cancer. I eat an 80/20 ratio, more raw in the summer. So far, so good!

My husband and I have been experimenting with raw foods off and on for years and decided to take the plunge this year. We eat 100% raw 6 days a week, and then stray just a little one of the days of the weekend. We’re both feeling so much better than before, and we’re loving experimenting with so many new foods and ways to prepare them. Friends and family seem intrigued by what we’re doing, so we’re happy to be inspiring some positive change!

I am a mom with 2 toddlers I eat raw 75% of the time. I have very poor digestion and since I have adopted the raw vegan lifestyle I have had a tremendous change. I definitely believe some people are just meant to eat this way! Just last night I pondered how I could make quinoa flakes for breakfast. Thanks for the opportunity

I eat raw about 98 percent of the time and have been eating this way for about 3 years now. I love eating healthy as I have lost 100 pounds, have tons of energy and have cured many of my ailments/diseases. Want to get the word out to as many people as I can so that others can have the same results as me and not be so SAD.

I have changed our entire diet to a healthier 90 percent raw diet in an attempt to elevate my husband’s prostate cancer and the pain caused by my arthritis. After only 4 months of our new diet, we are already feeling the results. We have both lost weight without trying, reduced our aches and pains and increased our energy levels. We have high hopes it will aid in a full recovery back to good health. Thank you for all your information and especially you wonderful recipes. Without them I’m not sure I would have been able to stick to the new diet. You have made it exciting and pleasurable to eat new dishes that are healthy and so very tasty.
