How Not to Die – GIVEAWAY!
Enter to win “How Not to Die” by Michael Greger, MD. The best resource on how to use a plant based diet to fight the top 15 life-shortening killers. THE RULES TO ENTER ARE AT THE END OF THE POST.
I have been a fan of Dr. Michael Greger for years. His site, NutritionFacts.Org is my top “go to” for information on nutrition and health. To date, there are 1,965 articles and videos covering every health topic you can imagine. He is always on top of the latest, scientifically verified, groundbreaking science relating to plant based diet choices and how they positively affect our health.

You can find the” latest information” many places but no one does the research like Dr. Greger does. He cites study after study, debunking some information and strongly, scientifically supporting other information. It is the one place that I truly trust for the latest information on nutrition.
Dr Greger is a huge proponent of a plant-based diet. And through his research, he has identified the foods that have been “scientifically proven to prevent and reverse disease”. His much anticipated book, “How Not to Die” covers the 15 leading causes of premature death, such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer and how to combat and possibly reverse these diseases with diet and lifestyle changes. It is mind-blowing. Did you know that drinking hibiscus tea can work better that the leading drug treatment?
His new book also covers the foods and activities that we should include in our daily routines. He even has a check-list that you can use for your daily healthy eating and life-style.
We are buying this book for many of our friends for Christmas and I wanted to make sure that one of you received one too! This is NOT a sponsored post, nor did I receive a book to give away. I believe so strongly in his work that I bought a copy and am giving it as a gift to one of you. All profits from his book go to charity. Pretty cool, huh?

Start with vegetables as a base for every meal. Then add protein of the most organic level. Spice it as you like. Add something with good fats. Cook it also as little as possible to preserve enzymes. Eat slowly and think about eating and digesting and other relaxing things. Breathe and give yourself time to start the digestive process. Limit your liquids with meals.

I eat a good portion of raw green veggies everyday. I love fruit, so there’s an apple, orange, banana, blueberries, etc on the menu each day as well. Fish is a favorite meal a couple times a week although it’s getting harder to find fresh, not farmed raised, so it’s a good thing we live close to the coast and do a lot of our own fishing. I also make a lot of the deserts from my Rawmazing cookbook, I give much of it to friends to try and they love them.

I begin each day by drinking the juice of one organic lemon with warm purified water. I eat fruit and/or drink green juice until noonish. Lunch is a large salad or smoothie. Afternoon snacks may consist of some almonds or nutrition bar. Dinner during these chilly fall/winter months consist of soup and a large serving of steamed veggies.

I believe the real basis of health is a positive constructive spiritual orientation and belief in one God, the Reality of Love, and in the oneness of all mankind. This generates fundamental happiness, empathy, patience, a sense of unity and world citizenship,-and a commitment to physical health and the health of our beautiful planet. There is a lot of work to do and we have to remain spiritually and physically healthy to do it!
