Your whole food, plant-based life.

How Not to Die – GIVEAWAY!

Enter to win “How Not to Die” by Michael Greger, MD. The best resource on how to use a plant based diet to fight the top 15 life-shortening killers. THE RULES TO ENTER ARE AT THE END OF THE POST.

I have been a fan of Dr. Michael Greger for years. His site, NutritionFacts.Org is my top “go to” for information on nutrition and health. To date, there are 1,965 articles and videos covering every health topic you can imagine. He is always on top of the latest, scientifically verified, groundbreaking science relating to plant based diet choices and how they positively affect our health.

How Not to Die by Michael Greger, MD

You can find the” latest information” many places but no one does the research like Dr. Greger does. He cites study after study, debunking some information and strongly, scientifically supporting other information. It is the one place that I truly trust for the latest information on nutrition.

Dr Greger is a huge proponent of a plant-based diet. And through his research, he has identified the foods that have been “scientifically proven to prevent and reverse disease”. His much anticipated book, “How Not to Die” covers the 15 leading causes of premature death, such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer and how to combat and possibly reverse these diseases with diet and lifestyle changes. It is mind-blowing. Did you know that drinking hibiscus tea can work better that the leading drug treatment?

His new book also covers the foods and activities that we should include in our daily routines. He even has a check-list that you can use for your daily healthy eating and life-style.

We are buying this book for many of our friends for Christmas and I wanted to make sure that one of you received one too! This is NOT a sponsored post, nor did I receive a book to give away. I believe so strongly in his work that I bought a copy and am giving it as a gift to one of you. All profits from his book go to charity. Pretty cool, huh?

This morning, I gave into a old passion of mine, salami… I know, forbidden words on a raw food site. It was very few, thinly sliced… My body let me know it isn’t happy. Been eating green veggies to make amends!

I eat a plant based diet mainly organically grown. I do not eat animal products and have at least one raw food meal each day.

For several years now I’ve cut out all white products (sugar, flour, etc.); have rarely ever eaten deep-fried food; normally eat only home-cooked whole foods, as much organic produce as is available in the far North (Yukon) at this time of year. Do enjoy organic dark chocolate for a treat as well as chia puddings. LOVE our Vitamix for quick, healthy smoothies & soups, etc. Once a year I order organic produce (dried fruits, nuts & seeds) from Rancho Vignola (British Columbia), a FABULOUS company!

I do my best to eat lots of veggies and fruits in any form. I can be completely happy with a plate of raw veggies or a bowl of soup.

Over 80% of my food consumption is eating greens and colorful veg. When I eat meat , I mainly eat organic meats-chicken and beef, and wild Alaskan Salmon. Does not eat processed food and no added white sugar .

Smoothies right now are my favorite with lots of banana’s. I love Dr Greger and try to stick with stuff he says on what to eat.

I eat a plant based diet along with intermittent fasting. I can feel the difference if I deviate.

I do my best to get food for my family from sources I’m familiar with. I eat a vegetarian diet, but purchase meat from a local farm for my husband and daughter. We also grow a garden and are a part of a CSA we do our best to blanch veggies and freeze for the winter.

I try to eat mainly raw due to hereditary troubles with high cholesterol and high blood pressure. Lost my mother at 62 and I’m determined not to let this happen to me nor my siblings. I make bread and crackers in a dehydrator. Drink lots of kombucha. Also eat a lot of fruits and veggies. Just trying to be as healthy as possible
