Your whole food, plant-based life.

How Not to Die – GIVEAWAY!

Enter to win “How Not to Die” by Michael Greger, MD. The best resource on how to use a plant based diet to fight the top 15 life-shortening killers. THE RULES TO ENTER ARE AT THE END OF THE POST.

I have been a fan of Dr. Michael Greger for years. His site, NutritionFacts.Org is my top “go to” for information on nutrition and health. To date, there are 1,965 articles and videos covering every health topic you can imagine. He is always on top of the latest, scientifically verified, groundbreaking science relating to plant based diet choices and how they positively affect our health.

How Not to Die by Michael Greger, MD

You can find the” latest information” many places but no one does the research like Dr. Greger does. He cites study after study, debunking some information and strongly, scientifically supporting other information. It is the one place that I truly trust for the latest information on nutrition.

Dr Greger is a huge proponent of a plant-based diet. And through his research, he has identified the foods that have been “scientifically proven to prevent and reverse disease”. His much anticipated book, “How Not to Die” covers the 15 leading causes of premature death, such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer and how to combat and possibly reverse these diseases with diet and lifestyle changes. It is mind-blowing. Did you know that drinking hibiscus tea can work better that the leading drug treatment?

His new book also covers the foods and activities that we should include in our daily routines. He even has a check-list that you can use for your daily healthy eating and life-style.

We are buying this book for many of our friends for Christmas and I wanted to make sure that one of you received one too! This is NOT a sponsored post, nor did I receive a book to give away. I believe so strongly in his work that I bought a copy and am giving it as a gift to one of you. All profits from his book go to charity. Pretty cool, huh?

Living on a plant based diet since the 70’s I used to eat pretty much the same things. About 8 years ago I began trying unfamiliar (to me) and unusual vegetables that I had never tried. If I didn’t like them the first time I would search for a recipe that sounded more appealing and tried that until I found a recipe for just about every vegetable I would find at the farmers’ markets. People who say to me “I don’t care for ‘such and such vegetable’ I always ask the way it was prepared that they found they didn’t like that veggie and then I offer to prepare it a different way for them to try if they will be open-minded. I believe everyone can enjoy all vegetables…it’s all it how it prepared that determines the way you savor it most! I learned so much from my experimental cooking and have widened my choices ten-fold!

We buy organic as often as possible and eat a plant based diet. We avoid most processed foods. My New Years resolution is to avoid all processed foods and ti incorporate more raw foods into my daily meals.

I enter what I’m eating into the cronometer app. That has helped me to identify where I might have nutritional deficiencies.

Wow, reading some of these comments I am in awe of how some people live and are so healthy.
I think the changes I have made are big, but they are little compared to other readers. We eat read meat once a week, vegetarian mostly, We don’t eat takeaways and eat organic where we can, we grow our own vegetables and drink a lot of water. We don’t eat processed or packaged foods or drinks. We run and practise yoga as well.

We have chosen to eat organically, grow what food we can, exercise, take supplements, and lead a very prayerful life asking to be guided by the Holy Spirit.

Vegan now for 20 years. Some of my diet is raw. Very few processed foods and generally listen to how my body reacts to what I eat, physically, emotionally as well. I move around a lot, try to surround myself with positive people and fill my head with positive thoughts and keep a curious mind.

I eat 100% plant-based ( 75% raw). I follow Dr. Michael Gregger advice “We should all be eating fruits and vegetables as if our lives depend on it – because they do”

Since moving to the west coast and buying a house with property, we now have a fabulous garden. We raise our vegetables by organic means. (No pesticides, no artificial fertilizer) and try to eat as much raw as possible. Everything tastes so much better and we are a lot more healthy. Thank you for your wonderful website.
