Monday Give Away: UrthBag!

Monica Ralli, founder of UrthBags, has sent us this beautiful “Angelina” recycled magazine handbag for our Monday give away! UrthBags are the Eco-Chic handbags made with the health of the planet in mind. I have one of these little beauties sitting on the kitchen table, and believe me, it is fantastic.

Monica has always tried to live a sustainable life by recycling everything possible, shopping locally at farmers markets, avoiding toxic chemicals by choosing organic, etc.  Looking in her closet one evening filled with handbags, purses, totes, gym bags, etc., She thought to herself, why couldn’t these same, stylish designs be made from salvaged, recycled & discarded materials?   After much researching, sourcing materials, locating and organizing women’s groups, she created UrthBags Eco-Chic Handbags.

Monica also follows a predominantly raw diet and has for over 20 years. She strongly advocate consuming sustainable, fresh food diet that is as close to its natural state as possible. Sisterhood!

This beautiful bag’s retail value is 72.00. Thank you Monica!

Wow, thanks for the opportunity! I’m a huge fan of vegan eco-friendly bags and have a collection of them I’ve purchased on eBay from small crafters over the years made from wrappers, license plates and everything in between. When I worked at a high school, they were a huge hit with the students. Anyway, to be more green, I’ve recently started composting and looking for more ways to produce less trash by reducing dependency on paper towels, plastic bags and making more foods at home that I’d normally buy in disposable containers like nut milks and crackers.

My favorite way to be green is by growing organic veggies all summer that I canned to enjoy all winter!

I try to be more green by reusing all jars that I purchase items in and taking my own bags to the farmers market and fruit store.

    Wow the bag looks awesome!
Each day I try to be more green by finding ways to reuse things instead of throwing them away, and by teaching and spreading the word to others about the raw vegan life style and what an impact it has not just on our bodies, but on the place we live in. Also I try to be green in my relationships and detoxify from all the mental stresses and clutter we carry inside us 🙂

    Much love,
    Anna

Composting, Recycling, shopping at consignment stores and being mindful of the products that I purchase, buying locally and organic. I also try to plan my errands, so that I am not driving all over the place.

Recicling, re-utilising, re-using, whashing al the plastic bags to re-utilize, and making hadcraft (crochet) with used plastic bag colorfull, now I m making a beautiful basket to put the dirty clothes inside. Also re-utilizing all the plastic pots with lid to storage my seeds and the glasses of honey to sprout them. Using biodegradable soap, made from nut of indian, natural soap, washing my house with a mix of biodegradable soap and vinegar, and also for cleaning the tops on the kitchen.

I am trying to be “more green” by recycling. We took several big bins and labeled them for paper, plastic, etc. It just makes me feel better. Like I am doing something good!

I always buy local or organic and not only use a resuable shopping bag but reusable produce bags as well. It always confuses the cashier but it saves lots of those little plastic bags!
