News from the Rawmazing Front!

I woke to the sound of rain of the roof. Real rain. For some of you, that might not be a big deal. But when you have been in the deep freeze for months, it is a beautiful sound.

I have always loved the seasons in Minnesota. The difference, the diversity. The most impressive is the transformation from winter into spring. We venture into winter early here. By October, sweaters are out and snow can be on the ground. It is long, dark and cold. Day after day of frozen beauty that goes on and on and on. Challenging for people on a raw food diet. We are normally out of the woods by April, but can still have snow and cold even then.

Just when you think it will never end, the sun comes out, the temperature warms and the snow starts to melt. I always refer to this as the earth waking up. There is a moment, every year that takes my breath away. It is when the peepers (frogs) wake up. We go from complete silence to deafening noise in a moment. But it is only March and the peepers are still fast asleep. It’s early, we could still get a lot of snow. But today it is raining, and that reminds me that spring will eventually be here.

I am excited for spring and I am also excited to tell you about the fun developments happening around the Rawmazing Raw Food site. The first cookbook, a dessert cookbook is due out in April. I have been working all hours to bring you a cookbook filled with easy, gourmet recipes full of instructional pictures and information. Each recipe will be like taking a mini class! We are taking raw food dessert to a new level. Super healthy treats that look like they came out of a french pastry case!

Second, I am going to be having my first give away contest! I am hoping to have everything ready in a few days. The people over at TSM Dehydrators are providing us with their D5 dehydrator. If you have read the posts about dehydrators, you know that I love the TSM Dehydrators for preparing my raw food recipes. They are quiet, made from stainless steel and do a great job dehydrating. The dehydrator retails for just under 300.00! Make sure you tune in and don’t miss the contest.

Which brings me to the last piece of news. The site is moving to new servers. It should take place in the next few days so bear with us. Hopefully there won’t be any glitches with the move. It is an exciting move as we have outgrown our current servers! As soon as the move is done, the contest will start.

I continue to add pictures daily to the 365 photo challenge. It is a challenge at times but I love doing it. If you haven’t checked out Challenge 21, head on over and take a peek. I did a 21 day full raw challenge in the middle of the winter when the days were long and the temps were below zero. Every day is filled with a tip. I continued for 31 days, took a few days off and now I am running about 90%. I like 100% better.

Lastly, I would like to thank all of you for your wonderful comments and emails. You make my day. A lot of love and hours go into this site and it is heart warming to know that you are enjoying andย  benefiting from it. Keep the comments coming!!

Just wanted to chime in that I discovered your site a few weeks ago and have already made several recipes…the Falafel are in the dehydrator right now and the Cinnamon Toast came out yesterday. We’re working with an old American Harvest, so I’ll be eager to join the contest! I’m not at 100% yet, but 2 out of three meals are raw and I’m working on incorporating more raw at dinner.

I just want to say that your site has really opened my eyes to raw food. I am going to be trying some of your recipes soon for veggie nights in our house. Your recipes look easy to follow and the pictures are wonderful, looking forward to being a regular visitor to your site.

Wow, these are exciting developments! I can’t wait for the cookbook! I know the photos alone will be worth it.

That dehydrator would sure make my day. Hmmm, I’m turning 40 this month, maybe I can win it for a birthday treat?

Thanks for all you do Susan!

Good luck with the server change! I have really REALLY been enjoying your website and I don’t think I’ve posted a comment until now… Thank you for all the great recipes! And the chance to win a dehydrator! I have a really cheap one without different heat settings and now that I’m learning so much about the benefits of truly raw food I can’t use it! I will buy one eventually, but this chance will be great. Thanks again, and keep it up ๐Ÿ˜€

    Busy busy! Must be spring!

So many cool things to look forward to – like your cook book! Should be fantastic! And the dehydrator will definitely make someone’s day. What a giveaway! I’ll sit that one out when the time comes since I have a dehydrator but I’ll be cheering those who enter.
