Rawmazing Contest Update

Before I even start with this blog post…I want remind everyone that entries will be open until Thursday night at 6pm. Also, the winner will be picked by a RANDOM GENERATOR!!! I am not personally picking the winner…that would be way too hard because there so many excellent questions! Don’t forget, you have to actually ask a raw food question to be entered. I will be announcing the winner sometime Friday or Saturday.

This contest has been a blast so far! I am thrilled to see how many of you have responded. Your kind words about the site are so appreciated. And the questions! I love the questions. I can’t wait to dig in and start answering them.

I am learning a great deal about you from the questions coming in. You have given me inspiration combined with a new understanding  and knowledge about what you need and want concerning raw food.  There have been tons of questions about nuts and seeds, raw food “rules” and different kinds of raw food and supplementation.

I will be answering some of the questions directly. Others will be grouped and answered in blog posts. Some I honestly can’t answer as they are either very personal or medical. I will point you in the right direction to find your own answer.

A few have asked about the TSM dehydrator. Yes, it is quiet. Very quiet. it is one of the features I love about it. It is also very sturdy and completely separates from the heating element so you can give it a super cleaning. It’s temp is quite consistent and over all, it is extremely well made.

Good luck to all who have entered!!!

    Is sprouted bread considered raw?

My question is how you see dehydrated foods in the diet , some raw food experts are for them and some not . Do you see them as a special occasion food or something that can be eaten more often or even each day . It would be interesting to see how you use them personally ?

There are so many ideas of how to eat a raw diet; what to eat with what, what not to eat at this time, etc. How can I know what is right advice and what is totally wrong advice?

I have heard some things about agave nectar lately. Is it raw or not?

Why is it I’ve never heard of this dehydrator, but everyone knows Excalibur? Are they a new company, or is it about advertising?

how do you know when you are getting all the nutrients; protein, vitamins, … from the Vegan diet necessary to balance your body in the proper way? (I know this is a wide question but probably most heard when I tell people I have gone Vegan)

Ok….. I am going to share this but after you stop laughing I would love some instructions. I made some banana crepes yesterday and they turned out wonderful. The I proceeded to make the cream with young coconuts and soaked cashews. I have never cracked a coconut so that was an adventure and then that pesky brown “skin” on the fresh coconut gave me fits. It took me an hour to peel each little piece before it went into the blender…… Should I have left it on there or does it come off an easier way?

Talk about your old dog learning new tricks! BUT my sweet husband has come onto my raw food wagon and is HELPING in the kitchen and learning right along side me…… What a joy………..

By the way, the strawberry-banana, crepes were wonderful when once I got that coconut peeled.

    Be blessed
    Denise

This looks like a good sturdy dehydrator. I had the Excalibur 9 tray dehydrator and when we were moving, someone dropped it and being made of plastic, it broke. They probably had no idea they had just broken a very expensive piece of equipment. 🙁 Now I have a convection oven that starts at 100degrees, so I just use it for dehydrating. No worries about dropping it either! ha!

I know someone is going to be veeeeery happy to win this!
    Blessings!

When you are a raw food person do you recommend green drinks made in the blender in the AM or Green Juice? There seems to be various opinions on this.
