Rawmazing Contest Update

Before I even start with this blog post…I want remind everyone that entries will be open until Thursday night at 6pm. Also, the winner will be picked by a RANDOM GENERATOR!!! I am not personally picking the winner…that would be way too hard because there so many excellent questions! Don’t forget, you have to actually ask a raw food question to be entered. I will be announcing the winner sometime Friday or Saturday.

This contest has been a blast so far! I am thrilled to see how many of you have responded. Your kind words about the site are so appreciated. And the questions! I love the questions. I can’t wait to dig in and start answering them.

I am learning a great deal about you from the questions coming in. You have given me inspiration combined with a new understanding  and knowledge about what you need and want concerning raw food.  There have been tons of questions about nuts and seeds, raw food “rules” and different kinds of raw food and supplementation.

I will be answering some of the questions directly. Others will be grouped and answered in blog posts. Some I honestly can’t answer as they are either very personal or medical. I will point you in the right direction to find your own answer.

A few have asked about the TSM dehydrator. Yes, it is quiet. Very quiet. it is one of the features I love about it. It is also very sturdy and completely separates from the heating element so you can give it a super cleaning. It’s temp is quite consistent and over all, it is extremely well made.

Good luck to all who have entered!!!

What are some good prepared in advance raw convenience foods? I’ve a growing 13 yo boy and sometimes it’s hard to keep the raw food coming fast enough. He’s definitely not at the “in it’s natural state is best” mindset. He likes it to have been made into something. : ) Thanks much!

Are there particular enymes that would benefit those who choose the raw lifestyle (digestive, etc). If so, are there any brands that you would recommend? thanks susan!

    Susan Hello,
First I want to thank you for all the goodness in your heart …for being an inspiration on this raw food awakening. And 2ndly you will never know the positive influence you have given me about discovering the Vortex ( and Abraham). I totally credit you ( and thank you )for that discovery !! When i get back to Minnesota, I wish we could ‘Vortex” lunch together…I use to live close to Lakewind…! Now I live in Hawaii.

Now for my question. I am not 100% on raw food…yet. But am so excited about it and will be trying more raw recipes as I learn more. I want to know if sea weeds are considered raw, and if ‘Kelp noodles” are raw food. Also,I would like to know the time needed to soak nuts and seeds ( and what nuts and seed I can soak then dehydrate, and at what time I can make sprouted vegetables out of them, and how to make 100% sprouted bread without using white flour, because i am wondering if I can make croissant out of sprouted seeds ( so as not to consume white bread !) Oh gosh my mind has a lot of questions…but will stop here. I’m sorry for asking a lot of questions…I just completely believe in raw food consumption.

To the one who will win the Dehydrator…she’s very lucky. And thanks to you for making it happen. I pray that all the blessings that you are spreading to all us comes back to you a thousand fold. We know it will right…through allowing and alligning !
Anyway, Thank you again Susan !

    Sincerely,
    Zc

If you have to buy a fruit or vegetable that is not organic, what is the best way to remove the pesticides?.
    What are Nori sheets?
    Thank you.

What is the oddest food you have dehydrated?

So, in looking at my question yesterday, I realized it was only peripherally related to raw food. So, here’s my new question. Are frozen foods (such as fruit) considered raw? What if I freeze them? Do they lose nutrients?

I heard recently that some veggies should not be eaten raw. This was totally new to me. Can you tell me what veggies should not be eaten raw?
