There are some big things happening around here and I can’t wait to share with you! I just am finishing my last day of my Challenge 21 full raw cleans and boy do I feel alive. So alive, I have decided to shake things up around here a bit. The fun part is that I need your help!

My first announcement is that my second raw food recipe book, “No Dehydrator Required” is well underway. After spending 9 months putting together Rawmazing Desserts, this one will go so much faster. A lot was learned along the way. “No Dehydrator Required” is going to be full of new recipes, tips, hints, and bonus information. All with the same level of ease and taste and quality that you are used to from Rawmazing.

Here is where I need your help. I have quite a list of recipes, but if there is any raw food recipe you would like to see me take on…just post a comment in the comment section and I will take a look! I am hoping (keep your fingers crossed) to have this one done by late October or early November.

My second announcement is that starting next week, we will be doing a give-a-way, every week through December! I am so excited about this as it gives me a great opportunity to introduce you to some of my favorite things! Check back Monday to see what our first week will bring! Also, if you have a product that you would be interested in having highlighted, drop me an email at Susan@Rawmazing.com.

What about Banana Cream Pie? Or is that in your dessert book? That’s my family’s favorite dessert, and it’s ONE thing I haven’t been able to recreate perfectly vegan-style, let alone raw.

I am so pleased to have found this website! I had no idea you live in Minneapolis; so do I! 🙂 I will have to get your book & meet you at a booksigning sometime!

Actually it is in the book. (and on the site) 🙂

Okay – I would have to check the manual (i’ve never used that part) to see what the lowest temp would be. I was kind of hoping that I could use it as dehydrator. I have an american Harvest dehydrator and it works really well and I have 12 trays. But they are round with a hole and I really like the fact that Excalibur has square trays (much easier to use in my opinion) but I couldn’t afford it because I bought a BlendTec. I will definitely check the manual. Thanks for the info Susan. Your recipes and your photography are really top notch. One of my most favorite blogs of all!

The tricky thing about veggie wraps with cream sauce but no nuts is that nuts are our dairy…so to speak.

So in response to your answer to MizzB and Laura regarding convection oven’s. Does that mean that a convection oven can replace a dehyrator? I have a microwave/convection oven. I have never used the convection part – I suppose that convection ovens can be set at the same type of lower temps as dehydrators – am a right? If so, i will be a very happy camper. I look forward to your reply Susan.

Depends if you can keep it under 116 degrees consistently. You would have to test it out. Also, is it using any microwaves (not good), and what are the power concerns. Dehydrators run on a pretty low voltage and have to run for quite a long time. Would your convection oven? Most convection ovens lowest temp is 150, which is way too high for raw.

    Susan,
Thank you for rawmazing – inspiring and most helpful.
Yesterday’s reply to Laura asked if her oven was convection. How does the low temp in a convection oven differ from low temp non convection oven?
Please keep up the great work!

Dehydrators have fans in them that create the convection effect. So, trying to get the same effect with just a low temp and not the convection could be an issue.

Funny reading this today, as last night I was thinking, wouldn’t it be great to have a healthy raw version of the “Drumstick” ice cream cone? Now that would be fantastic. Can’t wait to get your new book. I struggle with my raw recipe repetoire without a dehydrator.
