KitchenAid 5-Speed Blender Give Away!

This contest has ended.

I couldn’t help myself. I saw a video on how the KitchenAid blender beat both the Vitamix and the Blendtec blenders in a test. Considering it is about 1/4 to 1/3rd the price, I just had to get one and put it through it’s paces. So for the next few days, I will be blending and reporting. And on Friday…because I want you all to know how much I appreciate you, I will be giving it away! (Make sure you read the rules below or your entry won’t count.)

To enter, simply leave a comment in the comment section telling me why you are interested in raw food. It can be as simple as one word, or as long as you like. I will pick a winner on Friday with a random number generator and announce who won on Friday. Entries will close at noon on Friday.

So far, I am pretty darn impressed. This is what I am eating for lunch. Right this minute. Slurp!

Our family is heading down the raw path as we have been steadily changing our diet over the past few years to a healthier way to live and this is the way it has taken us. We are loving the way we feel (and look)!!

I’m really interested in raw food as a form of “good” food – that is food that emphasizes the characteristic nature of food with regard to sensory experience and enjoyment, interpersonal relational aspects, uniqueness and experimentation and the like. I believe, contrary to popular conception of the subject, that raw food is not singularly health food, but it is also a means of experiencing something uniquely “good” (in the way I described above) about the nature of food and our human interactions with it.
That being said, I’ve been trying to experiment with raw foods and the recipes on this website have been entirely creative and appealing. Unfortunately, however, I oftentimes do not have the means of creating these foods due to my lack of a specific device or implement (I’m currently attending college and it is all I can do to host changes in my diet besides the purchase of raw foodstuff materials in the first place). Anyways, a blender such as this would give me a means of turning those raw foodstuffs into a variety of forms – many of which can be observed with a casual browsing of the recipes section of this website. I would be more than happy to start making shakes or smoothies and continuing to learn about new ways of experiencing raw food in new forms and with the variety of good and purposeful functions I see advocated for here on Rawmazing. Thanks!

I am interested in raw food because I want to give my body what it truly needs. Eating more fruits and vegetables is high on my priority list now. I am so excited to be changing my diet habits and I have been slowly but surely.

I recently went through a gentle detox and ended up eating a mostly raw food diet throughout. LOVED how it made me feel and look forward to trying new recipes 🙂
