KitchenAid 5-Speed Blender Give Away!
This contest has ended.

I couldn’t help myself. I saw a video on how the KitchenAid blender beat both the Vitamix and the Blendtec blenders in a test. Considering it is about 1/4 to 1/3rd the price, I just had to get one and put it through it’s paces. So for the next few days, I will be blending and reporting. And on Friday…because I want you all to know how much I appreciate you, I will be giving it away! (Make sure you read the rules below or your entry won’t count.)

To enter, simply leave a comment in the comment section telling me why you are interested in raw food. It can be as simple as one word, or as long as you like. I will pick a winner on Friday with a random number generator and announce who won on Friday. Entries will close at noon on Friday.

So far, I am pretty darn impressed. This is what I am eating for lunch. Right this minute. Slurp!

No fancy food photography today. I was hungry. And too excited to get this posted. Hurry up and enter before I decide to keep this little beauty! If you can’t wait until Friday, you can find one here: KitchenAid 5-Speed Blender
Ginger Peach Strawberry Smoothy
serves 2
- 1 cup frozen peaches
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 orange, peeled
- 1 1/2 cup almond milk
- 1-inch piece of ginger
1. Place all ingredients in blender.
2. Blend away.
How did the blender do with this recipe? Great. The only thing I had to do that I wouldn’t have had to do with the Vitamix (because it has a plunger) is stop and push it down once or twice. It blended smoothly….even the entire orange.

Eating raw food has transitioned me from being addicted to sugar and carbs to a person who has pride about their body. I feel lighter, more healthy, and no more head fogginess. I used to blame overeating on repressed emotions but I am finding that a lot of my issues were related to ingesting so much sugar and carbs. I am so grateful for a dear acquaintance who shared about raw foods and she healed her former cancer. She impacted my life greatly! I have arthritis and am still struggling but am much better. It has been 5 months and I am so proud I can control my eating for the first time in 54 years. I am enjoying so many flavors!

This blender looks awesome. I love the raw diet because it gives me lots of energy, while keeping me feeling light, clear-headed and guilt-free.

I have gone back and forth with the RAW thing for quite awhile and it is amazing the difference it makes. I grew up on a farm with a whole cow in our freezer at all times. Every time I ate meat I became so sluggish and lethargic. My whole life I felt like I was under water and just needed a nap! I love being raw and even got my husband to drink the green smoothies for breakfast which was no small feat. Unfortunately I have blown through blender after blender and can’t convince my husband that a $500 blender is worth it. I’ve even tried to trick him into thinking I needed it to make him the best margarita ever! There really is a huge difference between a well blended smoothie and a thick chunky ” I’m not going to be able to get through this with out gagging” smoothie. I would love this blender more than you know!!!
P.S. the magic bullet sucks

I love raw food because it makes me feel AWESOME! When I don’t eat raw food, I feel sick and yucky and when I eat it I feel alive and wonderful!

Straight out of high school I became bedridden with a serious illness. That was in 2010 and my condition today has not changed much since. I recently turned to raw foods and while I have yet to find a cure I can feel my body starting to shift towards betterment. I am confident that someday, by aid of the nutritional benefits of eating raw food, I will regain my health and rebuild my life.

I have never tried to go completely raw before. I’ve tried vegan and have to admit I felt better than my normal diet of southern soul food. I have always read your post and love the look of the recipes but never took the time to try one. Maybe one day I will get the courage to try a completely raw diet but for now I will try to add more healthy foods to my diet.
