Raw, Vegan Cherry Crisp!

Sometimes there are no words. This was so simple and so delicious I just had to share. Soft, moist and juicy, so close to the real thing.

I haven’t made a “crisp before even though fruit crisps are some of my favorite desserts. I wanted to lighten this one up (not make the “crisp” only from nuts) so I threw in some raw oats. It is so simple. Nuts, oats, berries and a little sweetener. You can get gluten free oats too. The best part of this recipe is that you can throw it in the dehydrator in the morning, and have a wonderful, warm cherry crisp later! Boy, this was good.

I wish u would open a bakery, or overall raw eatery. Your food is so good, and I am so lazy. 🙂

This looks amazing! I do have one sort of off topic question, if I may. How often do you eat meals that require at least one cup of nuts and/or seeds? I am really concerned about cholesterol levels. I have a friend who is mostly raw and vegan and her latest bloodwork showed that her cholesterol levels are increasing since she has gone raw. She seems to eat a lot of seeds and nuts and raw oils. Is this normal? Has this happened to anyone else?

I very rarely eat that quantity of nuts, even all day. There are a lot of things that you have to remember. Even though a recipe might call for a cup of nuts, by the time you portion it out, you will be eating much less. You need to pay attention to your body…have your levels checked. Everyone is different and what works for you might not work for her, vice versa. Listen to your body and figure out what works for you.

I made this with raspberries instead of cherries and it turned out really good and is so tasty and a little tart…

Amazing! This sounds similar to a raw oatmeal dish I do with almonds, walnuts and apples… but seriously who can deny the deliciousness of cherries!
