Grain Grinder and Flaker Give Away!

If you enjoyed the “How to Make Raw Flaked Oats” post, you will love this give-away! It is a grain grinder and grain flaker just for you so you can make your own raw sprouted oat flakes and other raw sprouted flours and flakes!

This NorPro Grain Grinder does it all, both flakes and flour. I put it through it’s paces and almost decided to keep it! It did a great job with both flaking and grinding.

To enter the contest, just leave a comment telling us why you are eating healthy and also approximately what percentage of raw food you eat.  You can only enter once and the contest closes on Thursday, May 16th at 9:00 am PST. The winner will be chosen by a random number generator. You must answer the questions for your entry to count.

Oh let me count the ways … or should I say ‘the reasons’ that I eat healthy. I am eating healthy to optimize my energy, creativity, connection with universal energy, mental clarity, physical prowess, and ability to share my gifts with others. To live my life, to be aware, to have connection and feeling, to be *alive* while I’m here spinning around on planet Earth at 1000+ mph, and dreaming of all the miracles taking place each day.

These gifts are everyone’s birthright, and I believe raw food is one of the tippy-top contributors to embracing them (along with meditation, love and exercise). And I’m not even 100% raw! Just imagine if I were! On the average, I would say I eat about 70% raw. Of course that varies, and accordingly so do the optimal experiences of my life.

My family and I have been making strides to progress towards all things natural, whether a product used externally or daily diet. We have always consumed reasonably healthy foods, but it’s time to take it to the next level. I’d say we presently around 50% raw at least.

I eat healthy because I feel better when I do. I eat about 80% raw.

I have had oral thrush for five months due to overuse of antibiotics and steroids prescribed by doctor. Since doctors don’t recognize candida as a viable disease (even though they caused it) I am trying, on my own, to cure this problem. No sugar of any kind including agave, no wheat, only organic vegetables, organic meat, no grains except oats. I eat 50% raw only because it’s hard to find recipes to fit my yeast free diet! I do fix your recipe for walnut cacao fudge and substitute stevia with water for the agave.

My girlfriend and I are always eating healthy, but looking to eat even healthier and that will include much more raw food. Currently, we’re only around 15-20%, but going to up that number considerably in the coming months. And grain grinders, dehydrators, etc. will certainly help with that!

    Keep up the great work!

On July 12, 2011 I began eating 100 percent raw to encourage a friend who was doing a 21 day challenge. Before that I was content to do 2 meals a day and snacks raw. Whatever I would cook for my family I consumed at an evening meal. That “21 day challenge encouragement” continued as “raw for thirty days” and then I decided to continue for 60 days and 90 days. I never went back to cooked food. This July will mark 2 years since I began and it has become my lifesyle. I first began incorporating raw into my diet on the hopes of someday getting off my blood pressure medication. I’ve been off the medication for over a year now. To God be the glory!
P.S. Love, Love, Love, your recipes!

I am new to raw foods due to recently being diagnosed with breast cancer. I eat 2 meals of raw food a day and even with cancer have noticed a difference in how I feel. Thanks for the chance to win.

Hello from London, UK! It would be so wonderful to win this! Why? I work voluntarily in the local community, focusing on healthy eating/making healthy lifestyle changes, in order to help prevent and improve people’s general health and wellbeing. This includes demonstrating Vegan food and running such classes. Having recently researched Raw Foods, tried out many delicious recipes, and experienced the benefits, I would like to take it to the next level in bringing raw food dishes to the public – by making some recipe ingredients from scratch. So winning this handy piece of kitchen equipment would really benefit the communities I work with, and myself, as we continue on our raw food journey towards better health.
