How Not to Die – GIVEAWAY!

Enter to win “How Not to Die” by Michael Greger, MD. The best resource on how to use a plant based diet to fight the top 15 life-shortening killers. THE RULES TO ENTER ARE AT THE END OF THE POST.

I have been a fan of Dr. Michael Greger for years. His site, NutritionFacts.Org is my top “go to” for information on nutrition and health. To date, there are 1,965 articles and videos covering every health topic you can imagine. He is always on top of the latest, scientifically verified, groundbreaking science relating to plant based diet choices and how they positively affect our health.

How Not to Die by Michael Greger, MD

You can find the” latest information” many places but no one does the research like Dr. Greger does. He cites study after study, debunking some information and strongly, scientifically supporting other information. It is the one place that I truly trust for the latest information on nutrition.

Dr Greger is a huge proponent of a plant-based diet. And through his research, he has identified the foods that have been “scientifically proven to prevent and reverse disease”. His much anticipated book, “How Not to Die” covers the 15 leading causes of premature death, such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer and how to combat and possibly reverse these diseases with diet and lifestyle changes. It is mind-blowing. Did you know that drinking hibiscus tea can work better that the leading drug treatment?

His new book also covers the foods and activities that we should include in our daily routines. He even has a check-list that you can use for your daily healthy eating and life-style.

We are buying this book for many of our friends for Christmas and I wanted to make sure that one of you received one too! This is NOT a sponsored post, nor did I receive a book to give away. I believe so strongly in his work that I bought a copy and am giving it as a gift to one of you. All profits from his book go to charity. Pretty cool, huh?

My husband and I went to changing our way of life to eating organic raw foods. I had at one point weighed 180 pounds and at 5′ that is way too much weight for anyone (also am handicapped and utilize a scooter). I now weigh 130 pounds and feel wonderful physically as well as mentally. We have made this lifestyle change and have been on it for over 5 years with wonderful success. I urge everyone to remember “You are what you eat” . Also, I am diagnosed with Diabetes Type 2 and no longer use any medicine to control this at all. My A1C is perfect and my blood sugars are 117 and under. By the way, my husband also stopped his blood pressure medication without a problem and also lost significant unnecessary weight,.

I incorpate raw items into a smoothie everyday. I also try to have raw greens as snacks and some sort of digestive salad daily. I also go nearly raw about every quarter for 5 days or so.

I pray and drink 1.5 liters of lemon water within the first hour of waking up. I take my dogs out for a walk for about 45 minutes. I’ll drink 2 Tlsp apple cider vinegar then oil pull with 1 tsp of coconut oil while I shower. I try to eat nothing white or anything that comes out of a bag or box.

When my husband came down with cancer, we changed to eating raw food and that’s what most of my diet consists of today. I try to keep myself in a healthy state and pass it on to others through occasional raw food cooking classes held at our church. When someone tells me they are going to die anyway and they would rather eat whatever they please, my response is: “It’s not the living or the dying, it’s the lingering.” How do you want to linger in this world, healthy, active and vibrant at 70-80-90 years old!. I do!!!

Hi, I try to minimize how much I eat meat, dairy, eggs and eat as much as I can of greens, vegetables, legumes and fruits. I even started a garden this summer.

I eat what my body needs not what my cravings say they need which is mostly raw vegan. Also I read everything I can get my eyeballs on about health and happiness. Happiness and love have a lot to do with good health. I practice all.

I like combining ideas from different diets. I do raw foods, organic grass-fed meat and dairy. I love using my dehydrator for making raw flax crackers. I also make green juices whenever possible and stay away from sugar.
