KitchenAid 5-Speed Blender Give Away!
This contest has ended.

I couldn’t help myself. I saw a video on how the KitchenAid blender beat both the Vitamix and the Blendtec blenders in a test. Considering it is about 1/4 to 1/3rd the price, I just had to get one and put it through it’s paces. So for the next few days, I will be blending and reporting. And on Friday…because I want you all to know how much I appreciate you, I will be giving it away! (Make sure you read the rules below or your entry won’t count.)

To enter, simply leave a comment in the comment section telling me why you are interested in raw food. It can be as simple as one word, or as long as you like. I will pick a winner on Friday with a random number generator and announce who won on Friday. Entries will close at noon on Friday.

So far, I am pretty darn impressed. This is what I am eating for lunch. Right this minute. Slurp!

No fancy food photography today. I was hungry. And too excited to get this posted. Hurry up and enter before I decide to keep this little beauty! If you can’t wait until Friday, you can find one here: KitchenAid 5-Speed Blender
Ginger Peach Strawberry Smoothy
serves 2
- 1 cup frozen peaches
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 orange, peeled
- 1 1/2 cup almond milk
- 1-inch piece of ginger
1. Place all ingredients in blender.
2. Blend away.
How did the blender do with this recipe? Great. The only thing I had to do that I wouldn’t have had to do with the Vitamix (because it has a plunger) is stop and push it down once or twice. It blended smoothly….even the entire orange.

Hubs and I have just started incorporating “Raw Food Days” in our weekly menu/diet. To add to the challenge, we have also attempted to buy almost all seasonal/local produce. You wouldn’t think it, but preparing rawmazing foods takes a lot of planning and prep work… but the results are always worth it – a colorful blend of complex flavours that come together in perfect bliss. This past weekend, I made a raw carrot pudding with cashews and coconut milk (not exactly “local ingredients”, I know… I said “attempted”!). Not a complicated recipe – and despite being incredibly healthy for you, it really DID taste sinfully delicious! I just used my food processor to blend everything together… but I know that if I had a blender that was more powerful than the Vitamix (which all foodie friends rant and rave about), my pudding might have been even smoother in consistency AND after letting said friends taste my concoction, I may have turned a few more of them on to the idea of eating RAW!
PLEASE PICK ME and I assure you the blender will go to excellent use! 🙂

I have an inflammatory disease (polymyalgia rheumatica) and want to eat more raw foods. Smoothies are one way to do this.
